Broken power board Dreamcast

    that sounds like whole heaps of money even if only 3 euro/pounds each
    probably much simpler to buy a new power supply for 7 euro/pounds

    Did you check the voltages?

    I can't remember my schooling, but I think a high pitch sound indicates that a component that helps control voltage isn't working correctly and is allowing too much electricity through. It has been 15 years so I could have remember incorrectly.

    Ok well I've ordered a new power supply, but I may end up attempting to resurrect this one in the future after all it would be a shame to throw it away.
    So how would I go about identifying what to replace the rectifier diodes with?
    And I will check the voltages this evening when I get home from uni
