So here's the thing: after I got my PSP(JAP version) last april when I was in HongKong, it worked for about 2 months and then it broke down. I didn't try anything with the firmware, I didn't install anything on it, all I did was play THUG 2 and watch movies on it. After it froze during THUG 2 with a loud BEEP it won't boot up anymore, and when I switch on the power button the power light turns green for about 5 seconds, and then it turns itself off, and it doesn't display anything on the screen at all. In the beginning, if I did this for about half an hour up to an hour, it would sometimes boot up again, and I would be able to play for about half an hour and then it would freeze again. However, this was only in the beginning(first 5 times or so). I initially thought the problem was with the game, so I borrowed a friend's game and bought a new one, only to find out that it doesn't make any difference(total play time with my new game, Wipeout Pure: 5 minutes). Now it doesn't do anything at all, no matter how often I turn it on.

I met this fellow dutch guy online who sold japanese games without making any profit himself, and asked him to help me. Because my JAP PSP was bought in HK, I didn't have the full warranty BUT Sony Japan gave warranty without a bill showing when you bought it because it hadn't been out for a year yet(currently in october timewise). So I send the PSP to him, and he actually managed to NOT pick it up during the 3(!) weeks it was at the post office there. So today, after it was send back to me in the end of November(the mail had lost it or something I guess) I got it back(and together with it, the shipping expenses for the way back, another 40$).

Now I'm stuck with a non working(but I don't know what's wrong with it, maybe a loose wire or something)PSP, I only have a HK guarantee up until april this year, my Japanese warranty doesn't work because they don't acknowledge my HK receipt at Sony Japan, Sony Netherlands told me to either fuck off(seriously) with my import or pay them 240$(yep, 10 dollar difference with a new one!).

My question here is: does anybody know what might be the problem/have any suggestions for fixing it(if anybody thinks he/she can do it, just let me know)? I'm pretty much open to anything, because it's just about useless(pretty slim chance I'll be going to HK within the next 2 months)at the moment.

If a Sony representative actually told you to fuck off then you should seriously consider making an official complaint.

When I call any company (for support or whatever) I always make a point of asking the representative for their name, before I detail my query.
