Hi, this is my first post and I'm just really confused as to what's wrong with a Saturn I picked up.

When I turn the console on nothing appears on screen, it's just black. Also the disc in the drive doesn't spin at all. I've heard before that it could possibly be the power supply, but even when I switched out the power supply from one from a working Saturn it's the same. I'm not sure what is causing the problem, could it be the ribbon cable maybe? If anyone had any guesses I'd be happy to hear them :smile-new:

A number of reasons can cause this. Searching Google yields a couple of possibilities, from broken fuse or broken laser. Either can be replaced rather easily. Do at least that, considering these machines are old enough to join the army.

First step would be if the power is getting to the right places. Are you getting a power light when you switch it on? If not, a fuse might have blown.

Yes, when I turn the console on the green power light comes on but that is it, nothing appears on screen and the disc doesn't spin.
