We have finally gotten our first hands on look at the upcoming Chinese PS3/PS4 controller adapters for Dreamcast. They support wired, and wireless controllers/arcade sticks and also hot swapping controllers while the system is on. Price has yet to be revealed, but these are really looking to be amazing adapters! Now lets just hope they sell well and they also decide to do Xbox converters. On the graphic below it shows Xinput support but I don't know that it means it allows use of Xbox devices on Dreamcast. It could mean it converts PS3/PS4 signals to Xinput on PC.

    Button Configuration
    • The default mode is FIGHTING STICK MODE
    • Hold on Brook Button for 5 Seconds, the Converter will be changes and saved the mode as the default.
    • FIGHTING STICK MODE --> THE MODE LED IS RED
    • CONTROLLER MODE --> THE MODE LED IS GREEN
    • PS. Use L-STICK to set up the functions of D-PAD

    • Each Brook Controller Adapter can only handle one PS3/PS4 controller at a time.
    • PS3/PS4 controllers connect to the Controller Adapter automatically, but must be connected with a USB cable at first time use for the purpose of registering the controller.
    • This product doesn’t support visual memory unit (VMU) of Dreamcast. (Controller plugged into port 2 with VMU might be a solution but not all games support that feature)

I hope they eventually add a Dual Stick mode for Virtual On.

This just might get me back into the DC. That is, if I find more games that entice me...

Personally I use one of these things here for arcade games/fighters and emulators. It is a straight plug and play PSX knockoff controller, but the plus about it is the D-pad is 8-way directional, and feels more like something on the Saturn. So that is cool. It also has 4 shoulder buttons too. All buttons have a nice clicky feel to them and the plastic buttons don't rattle around at all. Downside is it has no way to save either, so eh. Build quality is great though for an off brand 3rd party DC controller.

Dreamcast Junkyard did a review on them which was pretty positive and is what lead me to purchase mine.

Good luck finding one though, they are kind of rare but do pop up brand new in box from time to time on eBay.
