I bought these controllers and yes the L and R buttons have good rubber contacts. All buttons are very responsive.

You are talking about the BUFFALLO controllers and not something else, correct?

Yes, I'm talking about the Buffalo controller. It does feel lighter than the official Super Famicom controller but it's not made of cheap plastic with mushy buttons like other 3rd party knock-offs I've bought. The build quality is good and it feels solid. I was using an official Super Famicom controller with a SmartJoy USB adapter, but like using the Buffalo controller more.

Thanks, knowing these things, my interest is renewed, I was only cautious because I had read somewhere that the L/R buttons had the hard clickers like most generic usb snes pads instead of rubber contacts like the original controllers had. But maybe the person who gave that review had got a generic knock-off and not a Buffallo controller. Since you have one, could you post some pictures, or maybe a video review?

That's awesome. So I'm guessing you use these things on a regular basis and the buttons are indeed rubber, not metal clickers (like the zL and zR on the old flat Wii Classic Controllers)? Is the D-Pad pretty accurate when you're playing games that have diagonals? As a test of accurate diagonals, I use the controller test section of the SNES Test rom via Zsnes. [IMG]
Also, what's the cord length, about 6ft?

I never took apart the controller, but the buttons do feel like rubber. I've bought other 3rd party controllers that have that metal clicking sound and the Buffalo controllers aren't like that at all, they feel rubbery. I tried out the SNES test using ZSNES with the official controller and the Buffalo controller for accuracy and both controllers passed the first time, including the diagonals. The cable is 6ft.

After looking around for more about the Buffalo, I finally broke down and got one, should arrive by the 29th of Dec. I saw this vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7lpt14KtZc) which is a bit more showie than the one posted by HKSuperSell, and it sold me on it.

Just got my Buffalo SNES/SFC usb pad in the mail today. This blows all those generic bootleg USB SNES pads away. D-Pad is actually a different design, Buffalo uses a cross piece in a fitted hole like MadCatz old PS2 pads, instead of a rocking circular piece like the SNES and Wii Classic D-Pad. Straight-On Diagonals are mildly clicky, might wear off once I use the pad and get it "broken in," if not a square of double sided tape set under each arrow usually helps out. Up, Down, Left, Right - Start / Select, L R, YXBA feel perfect.
