Would it theoretically be possible? 100 million PS1's 150+ million PS2's We could use sports games that no one wants and broken phones as insulation and filler. Then we could use copper from old phone cords to dangerously and illegally wire it to an inner-city power grid so then we could plug in wall-to-wall CRTs, power a gigantic PS2 supercomputer, and hire l_oliveira to hide behind the curtains and operate it Wizard of Oz style.
Junk skyscrapers would be cool. A PS2 could easily be turned into something along the lines of a lego by cutting into the top and base of every case around the center (each console would be shaped like a 3D H when standing up). These cut up PS2s could then be fixed around vertical spokes mounted on an adequately reinforced frame and stacked horizontally in columns. Gravity substitutes for adhesives this way. Proper weight distribution would be difficult. Impossibility is just a placeholder.. an easy way to justify a handful of answers among an infinite amount of questions.
Well... TECHNICALLY there is a way. Take millions of consoles, melt them down, recycle the plastic and use the plastic within the tower for certain furnishings and such.
You'd have to calculate the height it can grow until the weight of the top consoles is enough so that the bottom melts. As it happens with mountains. Though I'm almost sure plastic enclosures with PCB and lots of air will be a lot less durable than marble. You could reach nice heights given proper structure probably though.
Sorry, you're late. http://www.assemblergames.com/forum...ember-Contest-Megadrive-Genesis-cart-stacking
Some of the brick-shaped consoles such as GameCube and Xbox are very sturdy. You could probably pile them up to 10 metres or higher before the bottom console would crack. In the end, these things are just plastic boxes
^^ :friendly_wink: well... .... dunno what's scarier, the subject or that some give it enough credence to actually ponder the possibility of constructing a building out of consoles?! .... still, i would like to see somebody try it, add to the darwin award ledger!
You could always build a pyramid, question is how high would it be if you used every PSX ever built Anyone dare do the math?
HA ha ha. I've always had the desire to build a throne out of phat PS2s. They're everywhere and so cheap. Ikea would be jealous
