Hey people! So glad to see assemblergames back online:)

The last month I've been planning to build a mame cabinet with a friend. We have gathered everything except from the display. We are going to use his old 21 inch sony crt tv using this cable http://www.geocities.ws/podernixie/htpc/vga2euro.gif (we live in a PAL territory so RGB scart is commonplace).
I decided to build the cable (for learning purposes) but have some questions.
We haven't decided though on the OS. It's gonna be either windows xp running groovyMame or the archlinux distro GroovyArcade. A last note, we have an ATI card, can't remember which one, but it's supported both on crt emudrive and groovyarcade

    1. I won't use a pc power supply molex, instead I'll use a simple usb just to supply voltage on the +5v line. It's event recommended on the website. Is it ok to just supply 5v on the cable and ditch the 12v?
2.Where I ground the usb cable? on a scart pinout? on the metal chassis of the plug?
    3. I need to make any extra adjustments on groovymame?
    4. Is there a way to test this cable on my pc running windows 10 and has an ATI card?

hmm, you need the ATI card support debug mode.
btw, the best 2D image with RGB 15k video out Display card is Matrox ,

Is there a certain way to enter debug mode? I've been searching the web but nothing comes up.
Btw I tried the cable with groovy arcade, but all I get is a black screen with random lines . I get the same results if I choose pal or ntsc crt tv ..
