    Hey there you guys!

I have been reading about making your own Gamecube SD memory adapter, on several tutorials.
    ( Eksample: http://ngc.scorpei.com/GUIDE-SD_adapter.html )

However I was wondering, instead of soldering the wires to a SD socket, could I solder them directly to a Micro Sd adapter, and put the software needed on a micro sd?

Yes. It's just a different form factor but electrically they're the same. It's probably harder to find a non-SDHC MicroSD though, I'd think - might be an issue, or not, depending on what you intend to do with the adapter.

I want to use it for installing GAMECUBE G.C.O.S.
Would that be possible this way?

Should work if you're using the right pinouts. They used to sell those Gamecube to SD adapters at DX for $3 + free shipping but I can't seem to find it now (I don't think they sell it anymore).

BTW, you might want to look into using Swiss instead of GCOS (GCOS is much older), or of course you can try both and find out what works better for you.

Are you using this adapter on a chipped GC?

You can still get them pretty cheap, they're normally listed as Wii SD adapters.

    Thank you!
Just what I needed however I can't figure out, what I need to do at the "GameCube motherboard pinouts & signals:
Slot A - TOP of motherboard:" part.
Do I need to reconfigure anything inside the actual Gamecube, for using this adapter?

I ordered a Xenogc chip yesterday.
I have been looking at Swiss, It's exactly what I'm looking for!
However I only seem to find a tutorial which explains how to install it using a Wiikey Fusion.
Which isn't being produced anymore, however would it be possible installing it, using Xenogc?

Thank you! I had noticed that these were available pretty cheap, however I have a lot of fun doing this kind of modding, so that's why I wanna make my own :)

    - Thank you all for helping me!
I apologize for the confusion, and all the questions :D

I just burned swiss to a disk and it works for me. Its worth noting that there is a fairly large amount of games that will not work properly or even work using swiss to load games from SD, though for the ones it does work on it is totally worth it

Yea alright, it's okay that not all of the games work.
I got Dios Mios for that.
I'm just interested in homebrew and mods on older consoles, and those Xenogc chips is extremely cheap, so I figured I would give it a try just for the fun and learning of things :)

No problem, I understand. I didn't want to be "that guy" that basically writes "just buy one" but I just wanted to inform you that they were readily available IF you wanted one. Making your own stuff is always more fun.

    *BUMP*

Would something like this allow me to save my games to an SD card instead of a normal memory card or is it just for homebrew and softmod installs?

Don't think that you can save your games on SD.
But it's very easy to transfer you're saves over to an Sd-card, if you have a Wii with homebrew channel :)

You can't just use the adapter with an SD card and have it work like a normal memory card. So, no.

A quick Google search yielded this to transfer saves:
    https://code.google.com/p/gcmm/
    Works on Gamecube and Wii.
