Hello Recently I got a Xeno installed in my GameCube, and everything looks ok. I could play imports without problems. Before close the Gamecube, I had a look in the pot number, and it was 162. Well, now I finally could get some mini DVD-Rs, and for my surprise, these burned games are not working. I used IMGBurn and the lowest speed possible. My burner is a LG one and the DVD-Rs are from Elgin. So, I opened the Gamecube again, and I tried to set some pot values. Tried with 200, 100, 65, 25 and 5, without success. Now I put back to 162. So, my question is: Is it possible that a Elgin DVD simply could not working even changing the pot value? Once I still have 8 DVDs, I can try again if you have any suggestion (different software for example). Btw, I burned two DVDs: Mario Kart and Swiss.
Gamecube is very very fussy on media. Its extremely likely its your discs. You want to try and get ritekg04
also try at a higher speed. some drives don't like writing at low speed and produce worse quality disks then a higher burn speed. Bad_Ad is well versed in that subject.
Hello Bad_Ad84 and skyway1985. I would like to share my tests. I tried to burn with a higher speed as skyway1985 said, but without success. I could not find Ritek discs here... so, i tried to use another brand. SMAC. And for my surprise, worked! My setup for future reference are: - pot value at 160 - SMAC disc - LG burner - IMGBurner selecting 1x. Thanks for your help!
Yeah the Gamecube is EXTREMELY fussy with media. I have never known a console spit media back at me like the Gamecube does.... I use Verbatims (these ones: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271930303035)
