Hey everyone I'm kind of new to this but I've done some Dreamcast games a long time ago. Regardless I've been trying to make some Sega CD games and all the turtorials I can find use a program called "sega cue maker." I can't get it to work on windows 10 64 bit. There are some links out there on how to get it to work on vista, 7,8 and xp. Mostly for those its seems like it was a issue with 32 vs 64 bit. I tried extracting the file to program 86 but it didn't help. I'm getting an error message "Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" TIA just bought a sega CD and want to play
imgburn doesn't work for Sega CD? (I haven't burnt any SCD games yet). I use imgburn for my NGCD games though and it works fine. Otherwise, Windows 10 got rid of a bunch of legacy support that Windows 8 and earlier had, so this isn't surprising. There is a few programs/games of mine that work fine on 8 but no dice on 10.
I used Imgburn to burn Sega CD discs. I set it to burn at AWS/MAX and used Verbatim Vinyl CD-Rs. All three discs work great on my Model 1 SCD.
Imgburn should work fine with 64-bit Windows 10. I've had problems with disc burning/image programs before, and I found that the solution is to run the installer as Administrator. Try that, and if you still have problems, try running the program itself as Administrator too.
Sega Cue Maker is, as the name already says, a .cue sheet creator. If you have proper images, in whichever format, simply burn them with imgburn as suggested. The .cue sheet creator would be just needed if you have a bunch of loose mp3/wav/bin files (as many early dumps have been for all systems). This can also be done with Imgburn or simply by hand with a texteditor (have a look at a .cue sheet from another image). Dont forget to Region Patch the games before burning, if your Sega CD has no modified Bios or you are loading a Bios through a Everdrive or similar. Theres a tool somewhere on the web for that.
thank you all, I had some time to do more reading and I'm getting a better idea on the differences in formats. Still having an issue though with imgburn. I downloaded a BIN/CUE file of sonic CD from emuparadise and open the CUE file in imgburn. After the buffer gets to 100%. I'm getting an error for "incorrect function." After cancelling that error I get an error for "track follow error". My drive apparently will only burn at 10X or higher and I know less than 6x is preferred but i don't know if that's the issue.
