C#: Game Dev, video tut's, from MS ...You never know, might be half interesting to some of you guys... http://www.microsoft.com/events/series/msdnvideodev.mspx
And all these years of learning C++ :crying:. I remember DigiPen from years back on some project the were working on in Donkey Kong Country. Thanks for the link!
I got accepted to DigiPen back in my senior year, but was never able to get financing to go. Looking back, it may have not panned out so well, but alas, I wish I would have had the oppritunity
bha! you can't do games in C# possibly do some scripting for the game in it, but not a full game (ok I know you can, but I wouldn't as I hate the managed crap were you can't poke around in memory as you like)
babu: It is simply a different way of doing things. C/C++ is the car you drive going 80mph down the highway. C# is the metro you ride going 80mph on tracks. Each have their purpose.
That wasn't true when I applied. I had to write some large 25 page essay, get letters of recommendations from teachers, as well as provide transcripts/proof that I had a 3.0 GPA. I remember it being quite a hassle, so there could have been more to it than that. One thing that NEVER came into question was financing. They didn't offer it, and they didn't offer me direction. My issue was, none of the schools were native to the US (are there any now?) and no US bank would finance me to go to an out-of-country school, and canada (the only one I could have gone to) wouldnt fund an american.
Be thankful. Digipen is effectively just a trade/vocational school and is meant to only churn out programmers and artists. In other words, they don't give you a good background to work with in the off chance that you don't get hired by a game company and have to work some place else.
