I'd like some help with my cable management for this case. Im ok but by no means a "pro". My main issue is Rear Fan X1 has a cable running all the way along the mobo horizontally to a fan controller seeing as my Micro ATX mobo only has two fan headers and one is for the CPU So I attached an extender and run it all the way along the mobo horizontally. I have no idea how to neatly manage this.

Here's my current setup, bearing in mind this is oldish and theres no longer a butt tonne of PSU cables not tucked into the back(Thats what I get for not buying modular haha) and I tidied up some cables so it is NOT as bad as it is here (This is literally just 5 mins after I transferred everything and hadn't cable managed really).

generally the CM-690 II Advanced is a nice Mid tower case, however I just suck at cable managing sometimes, add to a Micro ATX mobo and a non modular power supply and it can come off kinda crappily.

If you actually read the thread you'll find my issue isn't with zipties. It's with a cable seemingly being unmanageable. Not something zipties would help at the moment.

how about making a fan wire extender so you can hide the cable you are having issue with?

Turn your HDD's around so the sata and power connections are toward the front of the machine. You can then wire them in and route the sata cables behind the motherboard - making them completely hidden.

Then as werejag said - extend cables.

If you want a clean looking system, stock cables will not be good enough - you WILL need to extend/cut/recrimp cables.

Or...you can get a case without a window:). Or you can ge extreemly long cables and tuck them behind the metal. If you want to get really adventurous you can put a black piece of metal surrounding the motherboard and hardwire/solder the wires to the back of the motherboard.

For the most part though I think that windowed pc's show off a whole Lotta nothing. Unless of course you have a clear hdd. then you see some action. To custom make one of these puts your data at risk.

I think windowed cases are too ricey for the most part, I intend to get a few cable extenders and run it to the top of the case then through one of the holes for cable management to my fan controller. May take a few and a few cable ties but I'd like it to be nice and neat.

Ugly as hell when the cable is just draped along the top of my GFX card.

you need to have a bit of imagination, if it was me id route the atx cable round the back of the mobo tray, then tuck it under, the spare cables just cable tie to the bottom. the 4pin cpu socket one id route under the gpu. just spend some time planning how u want the cables to go and if there not long enough save up and get some nice braided extensions or pick up a good modular psu

I use some cable clips in my case. I had not many space but my airflow is really good! My system is running OC for over an half year without problems.
i5 2500k@ 4,5GHz Gigabyte Z68X UD-4, 2x Evga GTX 560TI SLI, 16GB Ram (under the bigBlog ^^) and 2 SSD Chronos (both mushkin) in raid0. Overheating was never an problem. And was an cheap antec case, 45€...
    Anything Silent.
The point is, when you have no problems with your hardware anything is fine?
But my suggestion are Cable clips.
Sata and power connection to the board is more an design problem. Use Gigabyte ^^

I'm going to flip the fan so that the cable is coming from the top not the bottom of the fan, and this should solve the uglyness issue after seeing Jackhead's case. I'd really like a modular PSU, but it's not a large issue at the moment.

I figure this thread will now become the "show off your cable management thread"

    CABLE MANAGEMENT, GOGOGO!

Speaking of Jackhead's case, does it not have a hole close to the PSU? Looks like you have everything bunched up in the harddrive bay.

antec cases arnt great for cable management. from what i can see i think thats the 900. so there is no hole in the back to feed the cable through

Also why is the PSU fan facing up? Not sure if the 900 has the holes for the PSU fan to pull in air from there and you'd be cutting off air flow but effectively you're vomiting hot air into that PSU from the dual 560 ti's and it might be getting red hot.

Just cleaned mine out. So clean and spotless.

I have a huge issue with my cable management however... I will buy some extensions and run them neater sometime...

You have encouraged me sneakypeanut :)

If you have skills and decent components, you most certainly can cable manage pretty well out of the box!

That's what those holes are for!! ;-)
