    I didn't know the PS2 had an official vga cable!? Does it support all games? Do the graphics look better than with the scart cable?

    I can not answer ... this cable is not used. The only thing I know, monitor or TV indebtedness kept in sync on green. Theoretically, the quality should be higher than the scart.

    ^^ been a while, swapped my svga/dvi cable for a Y.Pb.Pr./component cable...(both are official!)
    ....
    tried the svga cable on a psx, and i got no results, (black screen and audio) just CVBS/s-video and RGB/peritel cable seemed to work!
    ...
    psx does RGB/peritel so that's way better than s-video for a start, it ends there for the psx though!

    on the ps3, YES, they work fine as they do on the ps2!
    ...
    i keep seeing threads related to 'scanline generators' on site but that'll just add to costs, an RGB/peritel cable on the other hand is the best a psx can natively output, so scart the slag and don't overspend on extras UNLESS it's what you want?!

    Well PS2 can't actually tell apart vga cables from scart. You need to use games that support 480p, or the cable will just be trying to output scart from a vga plug.
