I think it depends on what the media supports, I burned the CD I had at 8x and it worked okay for me. I have had issues with IMGburn but to the point where a disc wouldnt be readable by anything, I switched to Nero and never had a problem since, that was on both a Pioneer and an NEC DVD-R/W.. All the work I do is on the same model as yours, a 1002
It finally worked! You are the best danhans115! I burned with Nero that I just acquired (*cough*) at 8x, and I chose Caetla and it worked. Many thanks!
There is a utility that coverts a cheatfile as text I to an image. You then upload this and if I remember correctly it saves them to a memory card. The tool is part of the Caetla tools, they are on the hitmen website.
OK, I downloaded the caetlatools-eng zip from that site. What would the name of that particular utility be? How would I use it, and then how would I upload this to the console? The README doesn't provide any info on this...
My bad, thought the tools were in the original archive. You need the wintools... the old program to do it was psxcode or something in the early versions, use the caecode in the attached archive. Also, attached is a code list. I would stick to just one region as a memory card only hold 128Kb. or just compile a list of the codes you need.
Yes, my games are all NTSC; American and Japanese versions. I copied that "USCODES.TXT" to the wintools folder... now how would I use caecode, and then how would I send it to my cartridge?
open the code program, for the infile select the codes list file (uscodes.txt), tick the box for autosize and choose a name for the outfile. You then send the memcard image (the outfile) to the memory card using mcup and a parallel cable connected. But if you dont have a working comms you might struggle.
CAEMCM.EXE? Which "setting port" would I use? Edit: does the file need an icon? Edit2: does this all work for you under Windows XP?
I havent done it recently so dont know if it works on XP. Last time I did, I uploaded it with mcup which is part of the normal caetla tools not the win32 ones.
Here's one I made years ago: http://lorezan.free.fr/ps1/xflashcd.rar The tool and most of the roms came from http://www.murraymoffatt.com/playstation-xplorer.html
Does anyone have a rom backup of PSXAmp? I've flashed it with Caetla 0.33 (newer version doesn't work on this cart) IN AR MODE and I've lost MP3 player functionality, after switching to MP3 MODE only [START] text appear (just like when booting CD in AR/Caetla).
