I have to agree with the majority here as well, I fucking hate that franchise. I play Killzone 3 mostly now for the simple reason, when I play an FPS I want to be transported to another planet or dimension. I don't want to spend my time clearing mines in Afghanistan so that I can build a well, or spend time ousting a regime in Outer Mongolia so that democracy will finally have a chance. I want to annihilate a species hell bent on wiping the human race from the many faces of the Galaxy on some distant planet I can't pronounce the name of, or maybe don't give a shit what the name is. But will ultimately lead to a show down with me and them using some weapon which could demolish the average house in a blast or two...lol To me reality games are like reality TV, cheap, obvious and boring.
I presume you're talking to me? If not no matter. Mad? Hell no In the same vein I mentioned before, I treat these things like reality TV, a LOT of people love reality TV and find it fun. A LOT of people love modern/realistic war sims, as long as you aint hurting anyone else then nice one, fine by me - do whatever makes you happy and fuck everyone else. Why not? I don't like these things and do my best to avoid them like the plague. When it comes to FPS games like Modern Warefare, I've enjoyed the odd game or ten. But I've never enjoyed the experience anywhere near as I enjoyed Killzone, or other manor of fantasy FPS. I take it you're an avid fan of the series then?? Judging by that pic. Care to enlighten us as to what the big deal is? (genuinely interested)
Honestly i hated it. Cod 1234 and mw2 pissed me off. I changed my mind when i played black ops. Then it made me change my style of fps play. Stop playing cod like quake or halo or resistance and just accept it as is and it becomes addictive fun. Then k played mw2 and got hooked on it. So now i have mw3 and love it. All mw games i felt had REALLY well done campaigns. Mw and mw3 especially. Mw2 was too michael bayish. A series of events loosly connected by explosions. Good story under neath it all though. Mw3 only changea who you play as a small handful of times making it easier to keep track of the plot like in mw. Mw2 just had too many events at once.
You changed you mind when you played Black-Ops?? Really?? That's got to be the weakest game in the series by popular opinion according to my peers and anyone I spoke to, graphically especially, maybe not story wise (never met anyone who liked the story ether). I enjoyed the campaign of 1 and 2 to a certain extent definitely (also never approached them like quake or halo), I'll add though that I've never touched, played or contemplated Modern Warfare 3. And logically you just can't hate something you've never played, so my judgement is reserved on that one, I will play it at some point. I damn well won't pay £47 for it though. Regurgitated MW2 engine with new maps doesn't warrant that sort of money in my eyes. Highlighting one of my main objections to the franchise. Bear in mind that one of the franchises I was loyal to Killzone (2 & 3) managed to fuck the transition between 2 & 3 up so badly that I considered dropping that series all together. It was only after an intense patching period I just about decided to carry on. For that I do admire Modern Warfare, the fans of the series want more of the same, new maps, tweaked weapon classes. As far as I know that's what they get. Killzone users had all kinds of shitty changes stuffed down their necks. What made it worse is that everyone trusted Guerilla, however Sony made them take decisions based on a time frame to release. Now they have a game on their hands which was so rushed that no amount of patching could correct it. I still don't want to jump on the Modern Warefare band wagon, NOTHING in it's history has convinced me this is a decent move.
This guy gets it. As much I don't like CoD, I really have no say in what games other people play. We all have different tastes, and if anyone here plays it, more power to you. I just wish people would stop assuming that everyone with a pulse plays CoD. I swear I cannot have a conversation about video games with anyone my age without hearing something about kill streaks or campers or whatever.
I'd buy that. Also, I'd die if someone made a FPS that faithfully followed the first Predator movie. There's so much material that can be touched upon.
Being a "hardcore" gamer nowaday is lick the balls of fps, god of war and mmorpg, the rest is not "hardcore" enough XP
or just wipe the world of all computer games, and re-release the original half-life. which, as everyone knows, is the best game ever.
you, sir, are a legend. that's why i posted what i did in my original thread. on the subject of michael bay, (and cod i guess), i encourage you all to watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g__bQ-Y7D8Q Thanks for all your posts, there is hope after all
sorry for my mass posts, but where is the FUCKING "LIKE" button? SO true. EDIT: also i have just realized all of the above could have been put in one post. but oh well :/
MMORPG? Nah. anybody who plays those gets lumped into "faggot weaboo neckbeard" categories unfortunately.
