If you hadn't noticed, the Development hardware discussion forum has been reopened. I posted in there the other day, thinking we could put our heads together, get our thinking caps on, and pool knowledge. The purpose: to create a database of dev machines. The point is, it needs to be a list you can use easily, at a glance I guess, but still have a lot of information. My idea was to have access to the following information: What dev kits are there for a particular console? What should the dev kit come with (leads/software etc). What addons are there for a particular dev kit? What versions of this devkit were there? So, if you are looking to buy a devkit for N64, you can look to see what options you have. If you want to bid on a unit, but find out if it is complete or an unreliable old version, there's the info. Unfortunately, there's one slight snag. I'm not an expert on every single dev kit out there, so I need everyone's help! I know there are people who know a LOT about dev kits for certain machines (esp. DC, GC, PS2).... so if you are one such person, post a reply on my "The Development Hardware Guide" thread! Don't worry if you don't know every single detail, I'll piece all the info together I'll write one on Atari Jaguar soon, and attempt CD-i.
... I am going to write a Dreamcast "How-To" when i finish my first demo... It will cover the official DevKit,Dreamcast Architecture and programming techniques/optimizations.
