I was recording the whole nesmarathon hosted by Pat the nes punk, when I clicked stop at the end it counted uup all the way to a 100 making an 18GB file. no probs with that. After that I shouldve copied the files to another folder, cause THEY VANISHED. I've managed to recover using some kind of recovery software a 3,8GB file which is supposedly 18hours long. The problem is it just doesn't recognize it as an AVI file. Any help trying to recover it?

I'm using VLC. It says it's not an avi file so I guess it needs a header of some sorts.

Could always try renaming it and ending it with .avi if that fails a converter might work.

Don't some file systems gave a limit on file sizes? I think fat32 has a limit of 4gb, as do other factors etc etc
