Can a Xeno GC (or other chip) be installed in the Panasonic Q?

Hi there, I am curious if a Xeno GC can be installed in a Panasonic Q GameCube? I have read that a QOOB can be, but they're impossible to find whereas it's still easy to find a Xeno GC for $20. Is there anything that anyone would recommend over a Xeno GC? I can use an Action Replay easy for Homebrew and Freeloader for my USA games, but watching USA DVDs would be cool also. Thanks for reading!

If you can find its wiring points, stuff was moved around. No idea how accurate this is. (Google translated link)
Being NTSC the normal USA/Japan game region switch is possible. Without it American Star Fox Adventures will display Japanese text.

Qoob mainly has more features. In particular lets component cable users force 480p progressive scan on various games.
Instead of needing to first load homebrew like Swiss.

So if you play the US version of Star Fox Adventures on a chipped Japanese system it will have Japanese text? But if you play it on a Japanese system with a region switch then it can display in English properly? Am I understanding you correctly?
When I play my Japanese copy of Kururin Squash! on my Qoob Pro chipped EU GameCube, all the text in the game is garbled and messed up, consisting mostly of strange symbols and the occasional letter every now and then :) Is this related to the Star Fox example?

In my experience the force 480p doesn't work for that many games unfortunately. Most of the time it will mess up the graphics really bad. But when it does work it's a really nice feature :)

Right both a result of language mode. Whether using a modchip, Freeloader, or otherwise doesn't matter.

Sometimes I'm baffled by the games missing 480p. Not much excuse for things as simple as Puyo Pop Fever, after all it does on Dreamcast.

Mobo is identical. Viper is no prob, just as Qoob.
I bet Xeno just snaps onto the mobo as any other chip, unless there are any other points to connect to besides the mobo (which I doubt.)

Just hotwire (solder slab) the jumper for permanent US system first.

Well keep in mind permanent is a major decision. Games like Radirgy and Donkey Konga 3 will gain their usual compatibility issues.

The Xeno doesn't work. There are similar solder points on the Panasonic Q, but from experience of soldering a Xeno to them, the only result is that the Q won't read any games at all.

Alright thanks for the feedback! Does anyone have any recommendations as far as Viper vs Qoob? I'm very new to Gamecube modchips. Will either of these chips allow me to watch any region DVDs, or is that something that I can only do with a firmware upgrade for the drive? Thanks!
