Hi. I am in need of some software (free hopefully) that can burn data DVDS. I bought a DVD burner last December and it came with a free version of nero which worked fine until I upgraded to Vista. Now when I try to install from my cd it says that this version isnt compatable with Vista and that I should check back at their site for furture updates. I looked there and they have some stuff but they want me to pay for it. I also looked into calling them but the number for tech support wants me to pay $1.25 a min to talk to them which is fucking insane. So now I dont have a way to burn Data DVDS anymore. Vista does Data and music CDs just fine on its own but it messes up with filenames and things on DVDS. I have DVD Decrpyter for ISO's and the like but nothing for data dvds. So if someone can help me out a recommend me something that will just work that would be super. Thanks!
Give a try to InfraRecorder or to ImgBurn: http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/ http://www.imgburn.com/ Both apps support Vista and are free.
pm replied to. Thanks for the help guys. I will get around to testing these tonite sometime and I hope they work!
Alcohol 120% for isos nero for the rest anydvd for region freedom Clonedvd for compressing DL to single layer movie etc etc... some are better than others.
Ive gotten some software that works. Its ok for what I need. I do have my copy of Nero that came with my burner but it dosent work with vista. Thanks!
This may sound dumb but, doesnt Vista have any built in burning software like XP does ? If it does I suspect it probably isnt worth using for all but the most basic of tasks.
