Can I find jap. game magazines in shops?

Hello everyone,

I asked myself if there are magazines for sale in Japan, i.e. in shops such as Book Off.
I'm very interested in some issues of the Arcadia-Magazine but I don't know how much I have to pay for it in Japan and how hard to find they are.

 

Depends on where you are. Arcadia isn't a very wide publication. Sometimes takes some serious hunting to find it. If you want old issues though, Book Off is your bets bet. Some PCB shops have old issues. Mak JP usually has a decent stack of them.

 

Getting the new Arcadia mags is very easy but like GaijinPunch said, the older issues are harder to find.

One more reason to visit that big PCB-shop in Akiba.

 

I've had a hell of a tough time finding old game mags (at decent prices) at shops in Japan. Almost none of them that I went to had them.

Yahoo Auctions, however, has a decent number of mags for sale. I'd recommend that.

 

Don't forget to check on the shmups for sale board. They pop up for $5-$6 each quite often.

 

hm yea I dont see that mag alot lately

 

the gameshop in mandarake has tons of old arcadia and gamest issues, also alot of the gamest videos and other stuff they released, well worth a look (its also a great gamestore overall)

 

The old AsoBitCity at the corner in Akiba had tons of old issues, a shame that store is now a hell hole.

Check out SHOSEN BOOK TOWER in Akihabara. It's not so far from the big Yodobashi (blue building on a corner).
