Not sure if there is any demand for them, but I have like 8 ps3's that all have YLOD. I could reball them but I'm feeling lazying about it. And I might just pull the CID off and sell the power supplys/dvd drives. Is selling CIDs allowed on here?
Hasn't selling CID's have always been a bit iffy? Especially since there tools out there to pull CID's from peoples consoles without even knowing which eventually gets them banned
Not sure what you mean on the last part. Yeah selling CID is iffy because the seller could sell the same CID more than once. Now I'm not that type of person, otherwise I'd be selling all of the CID's on the consoles I've downgraded in the past. I've never once messed with selling CIDs before but recently someone asked me if I had any for sale and got me thinking about all those broken consoles I have on the shelf.
Am I wrong in assuming that CID's are used to unban consoles from PSN? I'm pretty sure that there has been a few tools that have been made by people that have figured out how each id is assigned so they can pull anyone's ID without them knowing, potentially banning the innocent person. If memory serves me right that is a thing. Also I'm not saying you are one of those people but you let one and the rest come. You know what I mean ?
There is only two ways to get the CID. Having the dump of the nand/nor or having a ps3 with cfw. People have tried to connect the serial on the back with the CID but nothing has happened on that front thankfully. Not sure how this bans an innocent person. I'm talking my old ylod consoles that have clean CID, selling them for whatever and then throwing away the motherboard.
How about you must sell the CID with the motherboard, but the customer can decide to not take the board. That way there's no legal worries.
I'm not talking about you specifically but I'm talking about a what if situation with other users, as for the people making tools to get ID's that's my bad, could've sworn I read up about it somewhere.
The solder bumps that connect the Die to the PCB substrate of the whole processor package, it's still solder but can't be repaired.
It can be vias but from what I've read it is usually the RDL bumps. Heating the package up to about 150c seems to remedy the issue until it is thermal cycled a few times. Seeing as the Die is under-filled, there is no real way to properly rework the solder (I'd take a guess and say that methods to remove that epoxy would damage the Die and PCB)
Or show a picture of the motherboard broken. I just wanted to check that this would not break the site rules. Sounds like I'm good on that standpoint Interesting, I've never heard of that before. I've reballed a few with great success, but perhaps I just reflowed RDL bumps during the reball.
