Im looking to switch my xbox ide hdd to a new with bigger memory so I can store more games! My friend told me NOT everyone works, how do I know if they work or not? or is it just a gamble, they work if they work? Im looking at these, how can I know if they work with xbox? Ive never had a HDD just flatout not work personally.. unless it was bad. The problem comes if your system is soft modded and not hard modded. Some Hdds dont allow locking which is critically important if the unit is soft modded. If you have a modchip you're fine whether or not the hdd is lockable. Im pretty sure there is a list of different known working hdds out there on the web somewhere.
