Kind of new to the PS3 test world (don't even have one of my own yet), but I'm curious if the game debugs can play blu-ray movies at all? I'm guessing the DECHSA00A is an A/V unit only (it _only_ plays movies/video, no game functionality at all). I remember a year or so ago that the debugs for game testing won't play blu-ray (either retail discs or copies). Just curious if that's still the case... Basically, is there a Test that will do everything?

No, mainly as the blu-ray unit is to test the functionality of blu-ray discs of any region so the discs can be gauranteed to work on any PS3 or blu-ray player and therefore do not need to play games.

Game discs do not need to play blu-ray, so they do not have that functionality. Anyway is a blu-ray player really that expensive now?

Well, one doesn't exist that meets my specifications, so I'm trying to make one... :p

Those specification being a PS3 logo on the case, and not infected with Cinavia (for Blu-ray disc playback)... Since I want a PS3 Test anyway, I was kind of hoping it would fit in that category, but I guess not... (The A/V test won't play retail blu-ray discs, so that wouldn't help either...)
