just confused. I got it along with some other valuable sealed stuff so i'm assuming its a part of a collection but don't know what exactly it is. I'm assuming it is a demo copy as it is written, but, for what? and what does the localize sticker means? Thanks EDIT: Added complete photo
The yellow box indicates that it is an Asian/HK version of the game (I assume). It says "CD: Japanese" in both Chinese and English (and "Manual: Japanese, Chinese, English"), so I think it must be a Hong Kong/Asia copy. I have the Asian version of Metal Slug 2 and G-Darius on PS1 and it has the same Chinese/English information on the back. The sticker on the back says that it's a promo-copy of the game (not for sale) and should be used for demonstration purposes only. However, I don't think it's a demo, it seems just like a sample copy of the full game. I do not know what the localize-sticker means, it looks fairly custom-made to me. The rest is a legit sample made for the Non-Japanese market though.
Hi sir ave, thanks so much for very informative response, really appreciate. Anyway, hope you dont mind if i ask, what difference does it make if ever this copy is indeed a sample copy of the full game and not a demo disc? and i have some more pics of the cd itself that i can post if it can help finding out what exactly it is .
sorry for offtopic, can you show us a picture of metal slug 2 on PS1 ? i thought only metal slug and metal slug x are released....
Oh I am sorry, I meant Metal Slug X. Must have slipped my mind cause X is a remake of 2.. we're not getting younger lol. Still, the Asia-Version is a nice little collectible because it was the only version that came in a PS custom CD-case whereas both Japanese releases came in slim standard CD cases. Asia: http://www.ebay.com/itm/METAL-SLUG-...6779?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item335e904afb @8bitdreams I just meant that the disc probably contains the full game instead of a short demo version of the game, because "demo"/"taikenban" is not mentioned on the box in reference to the disc. There were quite some Dreamcast-games that had "SAMPLE" on the disc and came sealed without a spine-card, but they were identical to the retail version.
i see. Thanks again for the info ! and NICE metal slug x ! might be an off question but, how much do you think i get get out of it?
IIRC I have a couple games with the same yellow sticker I got as part of a bundle with 2 Tecmo ps2 tests a few years ago. A family member had passed away that apparently worked for them- My guess would be in a US office, but I couldn't guarantee that, but it might fit the same pattern of samples for part of some localization? grasping for straws here. I'll see if I can find the games around.
Heh- well checked through a few of them last night and i'm not seeing the tag, but I know i have the ones I'm thinking of.. somewhere.. oh well, I'll post back here if i track them down. IIRC=if i recall correctly
The game is exactly the same as the final one, just with and orange sticker at the back and a sample marking on the inner ring of the disc, as it was for promo/shop demo purposes. No one cares about them but they're always nice to have if you're into PS1 collecting!
wow thanks sir. Yeah looks like the same, it also has that sample marking on the inner ring. Did your had that localize sticker also once? ha ha its funny that nobody cares
It's a store demo that was used to localize for another country. It's not worth more than the normal game if you have no provenance like official paperwork. I could have a famicom that is labeled in Japanese "miyamoto's personal machine" But with no proof it's worth nothing more than a normal famicom.
that definitely makes sense sir ! Well, i know the provenance and the story(a very good story) behind but unfortunately i don't have any paper to go along with it =(
