Hi all, So I've tried all conceivable methods to get devlink 1.0 to work. Ive ran it from the devkit folder in its own folder, also from the root of the hard drive. I've also tried using multiple recoveries in case that was the case. I've ran expansion 20353 on 20353 to make the game run as a retail xex. I'm using a Jasper XDK, Falcon RGH and Zephyr Retail, the Zephyr and Falcon connect fine, yet when I try all these methods using devlink 1.0 with the XDK, it just cant find the retail nor RGH kits and vice versa (hosting and joining lobbies). The game I am trying to use is Kane and Lynch: Dead Men. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Hmm How was the game patched to dev? Try only patching to dev and removing media limit. Minimize the number of patches and see if that does anything.
Just tried that and no luck.... Really got no idea why this happens.... Just tried it over straight cable, no via router and that didn't work either :/
Try with the latest TU? I know games these days are extensively tested and all but hey maybe there was a bug. /sarcasm
Thats the issue, I created some 'mods' (hate that word) for the game. They're patched in the TU, I just want to test it works for multiplayer using system link before I look into creating a work around on the TU.
I'm pretty sure you can't do this. Reason behind that is the fact that dashlaunch has an option to encrypt system link for connection to a XDK.
Uh? Wha? iirc other than the ping patch there is no change to retail system link at all on anything, Only Dev systems need a system link patch since they normally can't connect with retail systems. Oh and I use LINK all the time with my XDK plus play local with my brothers who are using retail systems so I can guarantee you its possible. The question is why this particular game seems to be having a problem. @Deep3r Try with the regular TU and see if it does anything, If not then at least you know thats not it. :/ Honestly tho I have no idea what the problem could be.
Ok, so I guess I have to rule it out as the game being the issue. I tested halo 3 system link and it worked just fine. I'm not sure how it would be a bug on the developers side on the game as the RGH and retail connect no problem, I'm sure they didn't think about devs being used while creating it. But neither would any game, it should just connect like any other game :/
Sorry I can't be of much help with this :/ Only game I couldn't get to see my dev was Dead Island which I don't particularly like so I just shrugged it off.
? for you about XDK and LiNK. what LiNK you mean. xlink or Freestyle/Aurora LiNK System LiNK Online realmodscene.com.
LiNK as in the Freestyle/Aurora one, It works great and even seems to have the dev patch on by default so just boot it and play!
