I can't figure out the problem, either. Connection is working just fine for the Ethernet part (xbox live and my computer) and my laptop is connecting via the wireless card, yet I can't get it to connect with my DS. Router type is a Netgear, and I have the firewall turned off. It connects and gets the settings just fine, then it won't connect when it tests the connection.
Maybe something very simple: how many things can you connect at the same time with the router? most of them have a limit of 3 to 8.
Lets see, Currently, I have the following connected: -Xbox LIVE -My main Computer -Wirelessly with my Laptop Is there any way to see what the limit is? EDIT: Thats odd, the PSP can connect without problems to the Wireless network. Do I need to put a WEP Key on my router for it to work?
Woah, I finally got it connected after several failed attempts. After the nintendowifi.com site was no help, I looked in the wi-fi instruction booklet that came with Mario Kart DS, and it recommended that I put the settings in instead of relying on the DS's automatic search system. Since my router didn't list the DNS address, I had to look on my 360's settings to find it. Needless to say, I can connect now, although I can't be on Xbox LIVE at the same time (it logged out). Lesson learned: Don't rely on Nintendo's website support for shit, always look at the paper instruction manual beforehand.
