Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I thought that this crowd would have some experience with my problem. I have a Sony KV-36FS70 flatscreen 36" SD CRT TV (link to user manual). I am trying to play Time Crisis 2 with the GCon 2 on it - but I can't get the bloody thing to work :-( The problem is with the calibration, the crosshair either glides across the screen slowly or it flashes all over, depending on what mode I'm in. The TV can be in either 50Hz or 100Hz mode, and the game calibration screen gives me the choice of Progressive mode or 100Hz mode (switched by pointing away from the screen, holding the trigger, and pressing Select) but no combination of these works. I have tried with RGB scart connections and Composite Video ones. I looked around on the net and it seems that most people agree the flat screen SD CRTs should work with the GCon2, so can anyone help me? I am assuming it's something to do with the Progressive mode, as I don't think my TV supports progressive mode - but it's strange that the 100Hz mode doesn't work even though it should be made for my type of TV. I am at a loss. If anyone needs more info, or even some videos of the problem then just ask. I was hoping someone might have a solution from memory... Cheers guys. EDIT - A few forum posts online have mentioned that the TC2 calib screen should switch between 100Hz, progressive and NORMAL? Mine doesn't give me a normal option.... What's that about? Do I need to deactivate the progressive scan on the PS2 somehow? My PS2 is a SCPH-9000 Also, I should have mentioned, the TV console and game are all PAL
It's funny because I've read many forum posts online where people have said they can use their guns on their flatscreen CRT screens - am I just unlucky that my Sony happens to not be compatible? Does anyone know of other PS2 guns I could try? Ones with better success rates with my kind of TV?
i have used a Guncon 1 with a Flatscreen CRT so im thinking a Guncon 2 should work. Maybe the yellow cable that comes off your Gcon 2 is damaged , try jiggling it while in calibration mode. from memory Ninja Assault , Vampire Night and the PAL version of Time Crisis 2 support the Guncon 1. If you have one try that and see if it works with your CRT.
