Hi, I'm trying to flash my smartxx v2 with x2 5035, but i can't use the OS. It counts down from 2 then boots to evox, the countdown is supposed to be interrupted with just pressing the d-pad or something but it doesn't. Please help me, this is really annoying.

    Thanks.

Funny, my chips refuse to do anything but boot directly into the OS. Setting it to auto boot a specific bank doesn't work for me.

As far as I knew the default way to get into the OS is when you press the power button there is a second where the power LEDs go red. When it's red you press the eject button and it loads into the OS.

But it already boots to the os, I just can't use it. It also boots with a solid green light, eject button boots to ms dash.

Try Either a long press of the power button or just try pressing a random button like say "B" That is the Auto boot function or Timeout boot function that is enabled. its looking for some type of interruption within the 2 seconds countdown before it loads its selected default Bios, In this case Evox.

Thats the thing though, I cant interrupt the countdown. No matter what I do it still counts down and boots to evox, I noticed the whole boot process goes a lot slower when I for example boot while holding down A or any other button for that matter. It just seems like its locked.

You may have to then pop open the xbox and switch the modchip into recovery mode and reload the latest version of the Smartxx OS to it. That will remove all the settings in it currently and get rid of the Timeout Settings.. Im not sure why you cant access the OS.

DavidThomas would know tho, That guy loves the Smartxx Chips.

Thats what I was afraid of. Probably just unlucky and found a bug in the os build. Thanks for your help though.

No, I opened the Xbox up and set the chip in recovery. But same problem on the recovery screen, can't do anything. Could it be because I'm using an unoriginal Xbox controller?

Very possible, there has been reported issues with some 3rd party controllers acting funny with a lot of different modchips.

Huh, better try to get a hold of an original controller then.

EDIT: Original controller fixed the problem. Thanks.
