    Hey Guys

Is there any known way to connect a Car Marty that only has the cigarette adapter into a home outlet? I bought a generic "lighter to AC" converter but all I'm getting is a flashing light on the console and a flickering screen. Maybe it's the console, but I've never seen one of these broken before.

The cigarette lighter adapter reads, "Fuse 5A 125V". Has anyone had luck with any kind of converter? I need to be able to plug that into a regular Japanese home outlet.

    Thanks!

Well it should be 12V if it's a standard car socket. Probably of high amperage.

Is there a blown fuse in the marty?

Most cheap AC to fag lighter convertors only supply less then an amp and are mainly for small things that may require their batteries charging out of the car, (Radios, Sat navs, etc). It could be that the thing is not giving anywhere enough power to run the Marty so it to switch on before the voltage drops and it switches off and the cycle repeats.

Most fag lighters in cars can supply many Amps so most of the time you can run power hungry things for a short space of time (kettle, etc).

The marty should say on it how many Watts it consumes, with a 12V output with 1 Amp it would only be able to power a 12W device in a perfect world, in reality it would struggle with 10W. If the Marty requires 60W then you will need a adapter that is rated for at least 6A.

My Car Marty works fine with a standard Delta power supply 12V / 1.25A (+ outer, - inner).
When I try it with a Mega Drive 1 power supply 10V / 1.2A, which also has a fitting plug for the back of the Car Marty, it just lights up and then powers down, like your setup. So I guess you Car Marty is fine but hasn't enough power to run...

It's going to need at least 13 amps or more. It's an intel processor.
