This is an advert running in the UK at the moment.

    http://gprime.net/video.php/boogyincar

looks like it has been taken via camera from the TV so the quality isn`t great.

Buggered if I can remember the name of the robot tv series on TV.

But I am more impressed with the technology/computing power etc that
has created/running this as in first hand quality it looks "REAL"

Also this site has some cool vid`s/games etc :smt023

It wasn't just Jazz who had the doors open in robot mode, it was Prowl too and a couple of others I think.

what was the name of that one cartoon show back in the 80s where it was this group of heros and they had some amazing cars that could either fly, go under water, etc. They were also different colors. The main hero character drove a red camaro looking car where the doors would open up and it could fly. Then there's a blue car that could go under water, then a green and yellow I think. Does anyone know hwat I'm talking about?'

Ulysses 31? Can't forget Mysterious Cities Of Gold then, same team. I think those 80s theme tunes are sonic crack.

The English theme tunes aren't always the originals, ya know ;-)

I had Bluestreak - I believe his doors opened, too.

Go to www.transformerland.com to look for Transformers :p

Yeah, I didn't say the English theme tunes were the original ones :) . The Transformers theme is though.

Besides, I didn't mean just 80s animated shows, I like a lot of themes from Airwolf to Knightrider to Blockbusters to whatever.

Nostalgia is a factor but I think it's a fact that modern themes aren't a patch on older ones.

Yeah I had a feeling it was Bluestreak, I always get him and Prowl mixed up, due to the different names in the comics and the show for some characters. I should know better but my memory is showing me no sympathy.

ps - I think the main guy in MASK was called Matt Trakker or something close.

sadly mate, it's not. If you watch the very first English version of Transformer you'll notice the name TOEI Animation in the credits plus some japanese names. These vanished from episode to and were replaced with all western names and the Marvel logo. I have the original japanese Transformers theme and to be honest it's crap :-D the English one is far better.

The other thing to aid confusion with names of Transformers is the cartoon was based on the toys and many of the toys were just rebranded toys from other ranges hehehehe, still Transformers pwned though. Shame the Takara series was a bit off the rails :-(

    re

I was only referring to the theme tune, sorry maybe I wasn't wording my post right. The original TF series is a weird one, characters based on JP toys, mostly written and voiced in the US, theme tune done in the US, animated abroad. Toei also did TF the movie, produced near the time they did the Hokuto No Ken movie and I find them similar in style (although very different in so many ways) - the colours used, etc.

I read an interview once with one of the people who made the original western TF theme, sadly I forget her name, she mentioned something about the tag line 'Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons' was meant to be read by the vocieover guy/narrator but they made a mistake and fit it into the tune. Did a great job.

After the US TF series was cancelled all the JP series were made.

Your site is great Yakumo, this one is also, of course.
