I spent a few minutes finally putting the card into an actually Sega Cartridge. I have some final sanding to do on the reset button, but everything else, especially the fit is pretty solid. The cartridge is a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 game. "With SD Card inserted **Sanding needs to be done on the Reset button**" "Without SD Card inserted" I'm trying to find the best paper quality to create solid graphic for the cartridge. "The Sega Section in my second game room. I'm not using a HDtv for 16/32 etc. consoles." Wynd
Looks very nice. I've also been wondering what kind of paper would be best suited for labels. For my Everdrive that will arrive soon and for various repros I have planned.
Your setup looks similar to mine! I have the same speaker, and I have wire shelving for my Sega setup too - pic attached. Hmm. Your cart looks cleaner than mine, but I cleaned it up using a label from mrbigreddog. Good job. I used a Shadow Dancer cart for mine, but don't worry, I had a better condition copy. This one was starting to rust on the cart pins. I used an NFL '94 for my first one that looked even worse.
I didn't bother doing near as nice of a job as you. I just got out a big pocket knife and cut away until it fit. I didn't sand or anything like that. I left the old label on as well. Your cartridge certainly looks nice, but I guess I am unwilling to put the effort into making mine look that nice.
Mine came with case/label already. It didn't have a pause button for SMS, though, so I used a soldering iron to burn a hole in the cart case and then added the button myself.
HAHA nice. Yea I did one the day prior, however the goo gone cleaning agent I used "Big Orange" ate through the plastic. The case looked great and was sanded amazing, but that solution basically destroyed the outside of the case. So, I only spent like 20 minutes on that new one, I also just used a metal file to file the plastic off. Wynd
It didn't, but then I had the sweet, sweet smell of lead solder to refresh my senses afterwards Honestly I think a soldering iron and knife/sandpaper to smooth the resulting edges is one of the tidiest ways to do simple mods to plastic. Just don't inhale.
from the cover design thread - there's some great stuff in there to try out! http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27418
Late response but I don't see this label in the linked thread. There are a lot of good ones in there but not this one.
its better if you use a rotary drill on the cart , though not many people have skill with a rotary drill , i found out i did when i region modded my n64 , looking inside it looked factory.
