Just thought you all might be interested in this interview with Greg Orduyan (the art director) that I just found out about here: http://www.classicgaming.com/castlevania/features/orduyan.html Also, his website with some conceptual art and renders for the game: http://www.orduyan.com/
Well that interview puts to rest the questions of it being playable. The way he talks makes it sound like it was much closer to completion than even earlier estimates. The mention of a demo gives hope as well.
Just reading that interview makes the pain worse. I was one of those who bought a DC for Castlevania as well.....
Apparently a "Prototype Dracula Resurrection" for DC was sold on a French site about a year and a half ago for $2500. Wonder if it was the real deal. Really hope some playable part of this still gets out some day. I'm a huge Castlevania fan, and still trying to collect every game in the series.
Just found the link to the online shop: http://www.shibuyagame.fr/liste.php?rub=8&lang=fra The games are listed alphabetically and it's under D. Says the company is Konami. Isn't there also a PC game called "Dracula Resurrection" though? Maybe I should write them an email and ask about it.
I think some people suggested that the site just put that there to get some more traffic. But , I don't know about the veracity of that claim. I do believe somebody who worked on the game was demonstrating a demo to his class at a University in California as part of the course. So, at least a demo is certainly out there.
I had not seen this video before, don't know how I missed it? (Super Castlevania IV) http://castlevania.classicgaming.ga.../scv4weird.html I think the screenshots for the game look a bit different in the flyer too. http://castlevania.classicgaming.ga...nami91flyer.jpg
This {and Max Payne} are my two dreamcast grails - please someone find this for me, I am a really nice person at heart
I e-mailed him about the French sale, curious to know if a burnt playable GD-Rom could exist in any form. Here's hoping... Thanks for the link, it was a good read - and as stated, it's interesting (and sad) to see how far it got b4 it was cancelled.
Thank you, You are too kind. Yes many playable GD-Roms were produced. Regards, Greg Orduyan www.orduyan.com
wow, great answer. That told us alot. Actually I remember the disc they were selling was a BASF CDR. I'm sure it was or at least the disc they took a picture of was. Yakumo
