http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc6wG0o_v5k I don't know if it's well documented here but I'm a huge fan of Persona 3 and 4 and SMT Nocturne... now THIS is shown and...yeah I just shit myself CAN'T WAIT!
Looks really good from what I saw of the trailer yesterday. I'm up for getting it since I've been getting in to persona 3 on PSP recently.
The adult contets won't be so "adult" since the game is getting a C rating in Japan which is basically a 15. Still, it does look nice. Not sure how much will be actual game though. Yakumo
I'm sure pervs every where will be disappointed! I was quite surprised when I saw the adult content in the trailer considering the Persona games doesn't have any from what I've played. Thanks for clearing that up though I was wondering about this
Yeah but it will be enough to get it an M rating and some BS articles in the press about how VG are just trying to sell smut to children. Hell there was already some fat women on the news in the US bitching about the up and coming Medal of Honor since it will let kids play the terrorist and gun down American soldiers.
The trailer looks really cool, really well put together, and the game looks very, very interesting. If it comes stateside on 360, I'm already sold... and I still haven't finished Persona 3 (which has become a favourite of mine so far) or started Persona 4.
I swear there wasn't as much up roar about things like this back in the PS2 days and before (minus the usual suspects like GTA) And there was a lot of games back then that could have sparked bitching from people. I guess its partly down to games becoming a lot more realistic graphics wise people are starting to care about it more
Well don't forget. MK sparked a pretty big uproar in the past. As you said, on the PS2 the big target was GTA (odd God of War wasn't a big target).
That is actually a good point especially on the new one with the whole ripping heads off people. I do remember some commotion over the launch party for GOW 2 though? I think they had a dead goat or something at the launch.
It's the fault of the parents anyway. Those dumb fucks shouldn't be letting their kids play stuff like that. I know a 12 year old boy who lives across the road from me who actually plays 360  but the other day he said to me "I'm gonna frag your ass, bitch!" thinking he was cool. The kid can't speak English so has no idea what he meant but got this shit from Medal of Honor online gaming. He sure got a ear full from me plus I told his dad. Some of you may think I'm an arse hole for telling his dad but I say ratings are there for a reason. If a Japanese kid comes out with that shit just imaging what all the little bastards in the west are learning. Yakumo
About the same as they'd learn in any playground in the world, by the sound of it. Kids will learn swear words, it's a fact of life, and not one that particularly bothers me, but each to their own. There has never been a time when videogames haven't been controversial (Death Race in 1976 as an early example). I think the peak of the bullshit was the mid 90s Lieberman hearings. The hysteria surrounding Doom and Mortal Kombat was ridiculous.
I disagree because in a playground you are around kids of your own age. Online there's all manner of pricks out there. A few of which are here in this very forum. It's these people that influence the younger gamer. Only the other day I was playing Hydro Thunder on the 360 but ended up leaving thanks to some stupid kid shouting "Hell yeah, fuck yeh momma" every other minute. It was so annoying.[/QUOTE]
The age difference is a genuine concern I guess. I just meant that kids will come into contact with foul language and inappropriate content regardless of whether or not they have a 360.
Yakumo, Oh I fully agree with you that it's the fault of the parents. I am of the opinion that in general kids shouldn't be playing violent games but I also feel that if a kid of more appropriate age is watched over by their parents and is taught to understand that it's only a game and not to be taken serious or imitated that I feel they can play games mean for a bit older crowd (like with in 2-3 years of the age bracket, not 7 playing an 17+ game). I don't understand how online gaming breeds such ass hats. It really makes me shun away from playing games online (just keep to people I know). I mean i've had some pretty good games with younger kids who were respectful and fun to play with. Yet on the flip side I played a game back on xbox 1 online (durring a free trial) and there where 2 kids (prob 15/16ish) on a single account who kept calling this one girl a N-word when she wasn't doing anything to provoke it. Luckly I was host and just kicked them out quickly. At least Ms has come a long way since the days of Xbox 1 where it's much easier to report people for acting up (and MS will gladly ban accounts if they get enough infractions).
Very much so. Thanks to my ass hat of a brother in law my oldest nephew was saying F*** before he could conjugate a sentence.
