Hello there! Does anybody know any details about this game, I've never even found another trace of its existence than the infamous video from E3, which can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buEoscrTzac Apparently it was in development by Nintendo's now disbanded Marigul division. This one really is a complete mystery to me...
developer (Marigul Management Inc.) source: IGN64 The game was shown on a single monitor at Nintendo's booth during E3, and appeared to be some sort of Tom and Jerry / Itchy and Scatchy type affair, featuring cats and mice killing each other with over the top weapons, such as flame-throwers and shurikens. According to N64 Magazine the visuals on the game were too sharp and smooth to be a Nintendo 64 game. But seeing as Nintendo hadn't unveiled the GameCube at the time, it's doubtful that the game was running on GameCube technology either. Sadly nothing became of Cat Roots, and Nintendo didn't even announce that the game had even been canned. http://uk.ign64.ign.com/articles/079/079625p1.html
Thank you for the reply. I read the IGN article too, what struck me as sort of odd, is that there were never any details for the game, neither gameplay-wise nor story-wise. I guess this one will remain in the shadows...
