Nice! I've always wondered what video gaming in the future could be like, and could be closer than we think, if we didn't have to worry about that over $100,000 price tag! h: If they were to create those units in arcade stores around the US at that price, they would be going at a loss. Virtual Counter Strike may soon be a reality, if there was a way you could manuever without actually moving your legs! Who wouldn't love that?:rambo:
That technology has already been around, it's called a hover-round. Or just sit in a chair in one of those things.
LOL, I know those have been around :110:. I meant like an actual simulation where you didn't have to use arms or legs but brain impulses to move the unit you can ride on. There's this one video of someone hovering in what appears to be a car simulation that actually tilts and turns when you control the buttons. The unit can extend up as well and has 3 widescreens integrated together. I can't find the original source that I got the video, and the site watermarked on it leads to a site I know has nothing to do with the video.
That thing looks so awesome. That reminds me of the movie with Sinbad in it. That kid goes to the mall and plays that virtually reality system(The kid is the president's son).
I've told you guys about this before, it's called augmented reality and it's been in existence now for about 2 years. But don't listen to me, because according to this board, I'm still a "newbie" . The original AR quake looked terrible, this one is starting to take shape. BTW, the Revolution controller reminds me a lot of the early stages of AR...it was innovated in Japan at a university in Tokyo. google it and see what you find.
That has to be the coolest thing I've seen all day. Why don't they have stuff like this in arcades? Sheet, I'd pay five, ten dollars for fifteen minutes in one of these.
Hey, the future might be closer than you think. Who could have expected such a drastic change from the Nintendo 64 to the XBOX360 in around 10 years? Probably 5 years from now, such would be available on a Playstation 4, more preferably a on a newer Sega console, thus making Sega rise once again! ;-)
