If the setting ever starts working again (either because Realtek fixed the bug or you changed network adaptor), please keep it enabled.
The IOP is only 36.864MHz, which is why I was saying it is like a 80486 PC from 1989. It will never be able to sustain 100Mbit transfers with a PC from the 2010s.

As of now, I am already working around this hardware limitation for you, by attempting to reconnect after the connection over TCP is dropped. Rightfully, TCP should already take care of frame losses, but the Ethernet part is so unreliable without flow control that even TCP is getting broken....

Unfortunately, sometimes it gets so bad that it can even fail multiple reconnection attempts.

It means it could not open the game that was installed. I haven't changed the code there, so did you reset the PS2 before trying again?
If it still does not work, try to delete the game first before installing it again.

Please let me know if the v0.817A file I provided, helped you with the failed at 99% bug.
Now @Jolek changed his mainboard, so we have one less user who is affected. :(

    I had 14 games pre-v0817A, and 17 post-v0817A.

With flow control off i got slower speeds.

I sucessfully batch installed 2 games with v0817A on my 3rd attemp, no errors, not stuck at 99%. the 3rd game, installed individually, failed at 99% quickly showing "game was not installed properly" error. This time i deleted one game from hdd to reinstall it for the test. The average speed was 6965 KB/s. Flow control was set as default (On).

The failed install became a blank item in game list. Selecting it in OPL gives white screen.

    So it's actually working now?

So you only have about 30 games? But since it helped, I guess it was taking more than 30s to reply, from when the close game command is issued, to when it could actually reply.

That's because it wasn't installed properly.

I find it really strange that it could not open the game again to completing the installation (where it writes in the HDLoader-specific function like game title, boot path etc), but that is what happened.
I don't think HDLGameInstaller has a function for checking whether there is sufficient disk space. The logic behind the code that handles insufficient disk space may also have some issue. So if your disk is nearly full, maybe that was the problem.

Not really, but i got different results. Now, it doesnt take too long to give an error if something wrong happens at 99%, it is almost instantaneous. I left 4 games installing and i went to sleep, while i was in bed i heard a windows error sound, and i went to see what was it, and HDLGManClient had the top progress bar at 0% and the second at 25% with a error popup box saying something like this: "error preparing game for install"...
It had 11 GB free, all 3 games i tried where below 3GB.

So, i decided to make one more test with v0817A and here are the results:
before making this test, i zero filled the hdd using HDDChecker and ran a surface scan, all with no errors. Formatted the HDD within HDDChecker.
of 11 games, 6 got installed, the 7th failed at 99%. In my guess, it might have failed because i was multitasking on my laptop, surfing the web, while the games where being installed, so HDLGMan might have suffered with system resources being used, like disk and RAM, making the game install glitch? After I started use my laptop, from what i remember, the 6th game was installed, most of the 6th there wasnt multitasking on PC, 100% of the 7th install was.

My laptop has an Intel i3 CPU 2.00 GHz, 4 GB RAM and 1TB HDD.

I gonna retry the install for remaining games...

I'm trying to install some 240p hex-edited titles to my HDD through this software, but I'm having little luck getting it to work.

I can connect with my computer just fine and see whatever is currently installed (installing from original discs works on the PS2 works just fine of course), but every time I try to transfer to the PS2 I get the following error:

    Screenshot 2018-10-22 at 23.44.31.png

I can't copy from the PS2 HDD to the PC either*.

*This actually worked once, when I tried running the program under Wineskin in macOS, but the transfer to PS2 didn't work here either.

    Some info:

    PS2 is a 50004 FAT.
I have a DMS4 pro modchip in my PS2, that I tried disabling too.
    HDD was formatted with uLaunchELF.
The harddrive is a 2.5" 500GB (can't remember the brand), connected via a Sata to IDE adapter.
The network adapter is orginal Sony.
Computer is connected to my network via LAN.

Any idea why this doesn't work? Could the harddrive be semi incompatible?

Please access the network status screen (also accessible via network options, when not connected to the PC client) and check that flow control was negotiated for. If it was not negotiated for, then you have just joined the ranks of us who have this problem with 2010-ish equipment that cannot communicate properly with the PS2 from 1999. Especially if you have a Realtek.

If not, then it could be just one of the various problems with network support in v0.817. I'll be trying to complete and make a new release soon.
However, I cannot fix the lack of flow control with some network adaptors, since it has got to be agreed on and supported by both ends.

Right you are. No Flow-control :/

Maybe if I got a USB to RJ45 adapter for my Laptop and tried that way, it would work better?

This is basically how my network is set up. I would imagine the router being the problem.

Can I expect it to work if I use a USB to RJ45 adapter and hook my Macbook up to either of the switches? Or would the router still cause trouble? Network isn't my strongest side :)

Just hook your laptop up directly; no need for switch or router.

But then I would need to deal with crossover cables and whatnot, wouldn't I?

No, as Auto-MDI-X solves that problem.

    Okay thank you :)

I would still have to set the IP manually, right?

What if you connected the PS2 to either the 4-port switch or the router?

The router really isn't an option as it's too far away. But I can try the 4-port switch :)

Using the 4 port switch helped a bit, as flow control now worked. I was able to transfer a single game fine, but once a game had been transferred the program refused to transfer more. So I had to restart the PS2 every time.

I found an ethernet cable long enough to connect it directly to the router, and the computer itself, but it didn't make any difference.

It was a bit annoying having to restart the console, but I didn't need to transfer much anyway, so it all worked out :)
