CCL Supercom Pro.1 SP3200 backup device?

    I've never seen one of these before, how rare are they? Do the only come in 8megabits? or Can i upgrade it to 32m or 64? And will these work on a Us SNES.

    They aren't rare in the world of backup devices, not even close.

    Supercom Pros are just Super Magicom's in a different case. They only come in 8 and 16 megabits and they can't be upgraded any further by normal means (plugging in a new RAM module).

    Even with abnormal means (hacking in another RAM decoder) it would be pointless since they don't support HiROM games, which the vast majority of >16M games are. Many Magicom/Supercom Pros also have problems with "FastROM" games as well because the DRAM addressing logic and the DRAM's latency together is too high. This means chances are high that even some LoROM games won't work.

    Yes it works on a US SNES, but they need a cart plugged into the top to bypass the console's lockout chip, but the top slot happens to not fit US cartridges, so you'll need a SFC/PAL adapter or to take off the top of the case.

    Nowadays this unit can't be recommended for anything more than slow and tiny LoROM homebrew. You could also backup and play the majority of early games, but few blockbusters after 1992 since FastROM hit in 1993.
