Hello fellow posters, Some weeks ago I got my hands on a philips cd-i the 220 model (the matchline-top-of-the-line in Europe), my own personal holy grail. And since it´s pretty rare to find I was totally excited since I got my hands on that proto mario game! Ok so anyway, when I started it I noticed that the sled isn´t working as it supposed to. There is no problem open the sled but when closing, it stops about 1 cm from the closing and the sled motor sounds like bzzzz bzzzz. Have anyone else had this problem? Can I fix this somehow? Thanks!
It has to be the gears. As to how to fix this, I have no idea - but it's pretty likely to be the gears being misaligned (or even broken). It's happened to the CD drive of my computer, for example. Now, I have no CD-I knowledge so don't take it as 100% sure, but that's the logical answer.
No clue but what do you mean rare? i think i bought it for 25 euros together with some movies i think, and i still thought it was too much. Its collecting dust somewhere for the past few years now. I'd say just get a new one. No clue where you're located but here that would be the best solution i think
N-y-N, I live in Sweden and Ãf you just want a cdi no matter the model you should be fine (I have seen even new ones), however if it is the 220 model http://www.classiccomputer.de/phi/phicdi220.htm with the slick cd tray.. I have only seen like two or three for sale in the last two or three years.. Is this particular model easy to get in Holland? Boxed and all?
Boxed might be a problem, but just the player isnt hard to get. Just some examples: http://www.marktplaats.nl/index.php?url=http%3A//koopjes.marktplaats.nl/audio_tv_en_video/cd_spelers/46448417.html http://www.marktplaats.nl/index.php?url=http%3A//koopjes.marktplaats.nl/audio_tv_en_video/cd_spelers/45179207.html http://www.marktplaats.nl/index.php?url=http%3A//koopjes.marktplaats.nl/audio_tv_en_video/overige_audio_tv_en_video/42835047.html http://www.marktplaats.nl/index.php?url=http%3A//koopjes.marktplaats.nl/audio_tv_en_video/overige_audio_tv_en_video/43998653.html Maybe its easier to get here because Holland is Philips' "home country" and their stuff (used to be) more popular here i think.
