Hi everyone. I have a problem getting my CD64+ CD drive working. The light comes on but it won't eject or anything. Tried reseating the IDE and ram.Tried a different CD drive. Any suggestions would be great, many thanks.

At what point does the light come on. It could just be part of the normal power on process for the drive.

The light comes on when I switch the power on and then goes off. It goes on if I press the eject button too. It might be the psu im using. It's my own one with different adapters on the end and it's not a great fit.

Yeah, you need a psu to power the cd64, If memory recalls its a 9v psu required.

Sounds like the CD drive is just powering up and responding the the eject press. The light doesn't really tell you anything more about what's going on. What other details can you provide about how the thing functions, or doesn't.

I get the the main screen of the cd64 interface and can see it reads the ram 256. I can navigate a little with the controller but get the cd error. It's a little blurry and saturated on my hdtv. The drive it came with works on an old PC of mine as does the 2nd drive. But both drives exhibit the same when in the cd64+. The psu that goes into it is not a snug fit. And it is set to 12v. I've tried 9v too. Just the lights come on, no drive activity. I'm using an NTSC-J N64 and various NTSC games to boot it. Thanks for the support guys. Would love to get it working fully.

Can you try to power the CD just off a pc PSU? like a old ATX psu with the Green and the black shorted together?

Could just be your PSU isn't supplying enough power. How many amps can it do at 9V? Or just try it with another one and if it works problem solved.

Hi guys. Finally got round to testing the cd drive on an old pc psu while it was all connected to the N64 etc. It worked! So i need to get a psu for the cd64+. Any links to a Uk/EU psu would be great, as i am unsure of what to get. Again, many thanks for your support.

I used something similar to the "Uniross AD100942 AC/DC Universal Mains Adapter UK 1250mA" but mine is grey, it was a long time ago as I've switched to the Everdrive 64.
Over at console goods (http://www.consolegoods.co.uk/) he is selling one that is stated to work with the CD64, its listed under misc.
