Ceddy's PlayStation Intelligent Movie Player (PIMP)

I found his old site back up.

The Yahoo forums or whatever section he started is just full of spam. However, you can find the PIMP 0.12 version from there under 'Downloads'. If the links eventually die, I have the version 0.12.

    http://web.archive.org/web/20030417153445/http://www22.brinkster.com/ceddy/

The downloads are down however. But I thought it would be handy for users who search high and low for information on the PlayStation (PSX).

    Does anyone have version 0.19?

I don't know what happened to Ceddy or Loser2000. Anyone have info?

Loser was a memeber of PDX irc he got raided along with others.
http://www.pouet.net/ demo scene memebers probably know more.

The version I have with a gui instead based on tim textures. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MEJJ8H1W

There where two others one like this
    [IMG]
and another with some champagne bottle as the selector icons.

You should get a hold of Zorlon's Wesker's vcd it refuses the same program and is known to work

Ah. so that's why - Loser2000 was a good programmer for the PS...

How exactly do I burn this .EXE?

I copied my 2 .STR's over. The one that worked, and the one that did not to see what will happen... (0.STR / 1.STR)

However, how like I just said - how do I burn this?

Made an .ISO, and used ISO Buster to convert it to a 2352 .BIN / .CUE and it does not boot on my Modchipped PS with colour correction modification (no PS logo after Sony BIOS has been initiated)

It looks as if the SYSTEM.CNF is telling it to boot PSX.EXE and then that is probably either reading the .TXT file for the string to the PAL.EXE path, or the NTSC.EXE path depending on the video mode it wants to boot into I am guessing.

    *EDIT*
Tried the .ISO and .CUE / .BIN in PSXFIN (PS emulator) and I get header issues...

How do I burn this correctly?

    *EDIT*
Tried PSX CD Generator (drag and drop the file)
No errors on the console (in PSXFIN emulation) but it still does not boot!

I tried booting the PSX.EXE in ePSXe and it says it can not find the .TXT file on the CD-ROM. So I don't think I can emulate it...

I used Loser2000's Disc Patcher 3 and I got the boot logo (PS) with Sony Computer Entertainment, as that was missing from the info I said above, but still not booting! lol...

    Do I use this:
    BuildCD version 2.43
    Copyright (c) S.N.Systems Ltd. 20 Aug 1998
    ?

(sorry for the huge testing list...)

PSx CD-Gen creates currupt images use CDGENPS2 v3.0 instead, then patch with PATCH-IT to add the license data and then BootEdit v2.0 to add the tmd graphic.
Make sure no errors are in the image after patching by scanning it with CDMage.
Patching alone with BootEdit has in the past currupted images for me as it doesn't already have the license data added so it places it in the wrong area that's why you need to patch with PATCH-IT first so it's got the data their already to overwrite.

    Worked perfectly.

However, it is not going into the menu. I select PAL (from the Loser2000 boot menu) and it loads. I see it 'switch' modes, and then it does nothing.

    Any ideas?

Am I supposed to edit INTRO.STR?

I changed 0.STR and 1.STR to my files (as mentioned above, I have it with 1 working, and the 1 non-working)...

    UJELLY?

(PSXFIN) Emulator shows this. Keeps scrolling very fast with all these errors...

Did you take the files from the one I uploaded? or the confirmed working one from Zorlon's Wesker's Report psx vcd mod?
Try and run Zorlon's Wesker's Report vcd on that emulator it fails too irc but works with epsxe and pcsxr.
You'll need to replace all files .STR and .TIM's the ones I included where just dummy files some .TIM's where real though.

I took the file from the one you uploaded.

    OK I will try Zorlons...

Replace ALL the .STR's and the .TIM's. What do I replace them with? Just the same file 4 times??

The .TIM's actually have stuff on them. I looked. They all have a image on them, so your right about those...

All the same or 5 different ones they have to be re-encoded though to a specific quality to work with the player as it doesn't support all qualities that's why I recommened Action Replay v4.20 before as it plays all qualities.

The following are translations from a italian pdf guide from both google and babelfish. Contains tutorial pics

Final considerations 8. F.a.q. (Frequently asked questions) 2 1. Introduction This small guide to the VideoCD for Playstation must be considered not like a text in a position to resolving all the doubts with respect to the argument but like a simple point of departure towards a full sea of opportunity offertoci from the potentialities (disowned to we common customers only interested from the videoludico point of view) of one, at this point common one in the houses of the Italians, Playstation. The present attached guide va' to the VideoCD.ZIP rows containing the files necessary for the creation of the VideoCD; all the present explanations in the next chapters are rifared them therefore to the present programs in the VideoCD.ZIP archives; who wanted can however use other programs and/or files not comprised in the attached archives. Anyone is interested to a contact with the author of this guide can leave a message in the forum of the www.appuntisuldigitalvideo.it site or, preferibilmente, through icq to number 70406317; very the councils, the demands of aid are accepted, compliment and the eventual critics, provided that constructive! :) Ricordatevi always that, in the event in which you have some problem in with regard to the dealt argument, to fine guide there is an entitled paragraph F.a.q. (Frequently asked questions) that, in the limits of the possible one, it will help you in the resolution of the same problem; before contacting to me assicuratevi therefore that your question is not already in chapter 8! Possibly avoided to contact even if you want only elucidations to me on the programs for the conversions for your GRANDFATHERS (Flaskmpg type, tmepeg, etc), personally I take care only of conversions GRANDFATHERS - > STR, thanks. Anyone wants can FREE OF CHARGE distribute the present guide without but altering of neither the content neither the name of the author; NOBODY Is AUTHORIZED TO DEMAND MONEY (or other assets IN EXCHANGE FOR) the PRESENT DOCUMENT; who finds illicit, of any kind, relative uses to it and distribution of the document, is prayed to directly signal it to the author through the communication channels previously listed. I conclude ringraziando Pezzoli Mark, webmaster of www.appuntisuldigitalvideo.it, for availability and the possibility to publish this guide that never it would otherwise not have been written up and my girl, Antonella, daily supports than me without never to complain itself of my tediose considerations on the relative arguments to computer science: Thanks. Walter Port, 18/07/2001 3 2. Software and necessary hardware Regarding the hardware it is necessary a Playstation with chip of modification and a PC not necessarily of last generation (naturally is worth always the rule that the speed in the conversion is directly proporziona them to the abilities to calculation of your PC). Assicuratevi that yours hard-disk has how much the more possible free space considering that, as an example, GRANDFATHERS of 10 minuteren, 320x240, 25 fps, compressed in DivX; -) (but with audio not compressed) he occupies, approximately, 150Mb and that, once converted in .STR, the dimension he will be greater nearly 1/3 (in the example: 150Mb+ (1/3)*150Mb=200Mb). The necessary software is, instead, the following one: Movie Converter - Software for the conversion GRANDFATHERS! STR STRPlay (or similari) - Software for the vision on PC of films STR He is advisable, before carrying out the copy on CD-R, masterizzare all on a CD-RW and to verify then the correct operation through a emulatore PSX (I I use the Bleem! but also PSEmu2000 va' provided that is had well on hand at least 128Mb of RAM). N.B. When a VideoCD through a emulatore is not always visualized the sonorous one it comes correctly executed indeed, to the times, it comes TOTALLY IGNORED. If this it had to happen you can however be calm because, once copied all on inserted CD-R and in the psx, the VideoCD will correctly work, comprised audio! Regarding the masterizzazione of the cd a program in a position to reading rows .CUE or .ISO is necessary; regarding the .CUE you can use CDRWin or, for who it as an example has problems with this software (like my Yamaha), is possible to use the suite Blind Read& Write (in a position to reading the .CUE). For who “it does not love†the software of masterizzazione over listed can comfortably use a any able software of masterizzare the .ISO (like, as an example, Easy CD Creator). 4 3. IMPORTANT notes and contained of attached the Videocd.zip rows Attached to the present documentation there is the containing archives ZIP the necessary rows for the creation of your Vcd. A precisazione is but necessary: inside of the rows the programs for the conversion of the films in STR and for the vision of the same ones are not contained, for reasons prettamente “lawyersâ€; aggirandovi for the net it would not have however esservi difficult imbattervi in sites from which or possible to unload the aforesaid programs. For the rest, the .ZIP contains the structure of the cd to realize, the utility that they take care of the creation of the rows image and the reader video for psx. In conclusion of this paragraph I want to invite all those who have intention of to realize the videocd not to ask me to send the programs for the conversion and the reading to they of the .STR because it is legal impossible, all this that I can put to disposition the found ones in the VideoCD.ZIP rows. Thanks. 5 4. Like carrying out the conversion .AVI/.STR Our scope will be that one to obtain rows .STR, leaving from a film .AVI, having the same audio contribution/video. He is easy intuitable like the two rows will not have “exactly†the same content but it will defer in some parameters which the quality of audio (the STR does not support a greater audio of 37.8 KHz), the FPS (but these not always differ originate from it them) and, naturally, the jam (the quality of the STR are smaller regarding the GRANDFATHERS). It is considered that the customer has already, ready for being converted, its rows GRANDFATHERS (not more than four) having resolution of 320x240 and the maximum duration of 7.20 minuteren (for every single film). N.B. Before proceeding with the conversion he is indispensable spiegarvi that the GRANDFATHERS of departure must not have some audio jam! They are admitted alone jams video. The steps to follow are the following ones: 1) To open the program Movie Converter and, cliccando in box the 1, to select the rows .avi to convert (in the box more low come demanded that the grandfathers are “uncompressedâ€, personally I have carried out tests with grandfathers compressed in DivX; -) and I have not had some type of problem). Automatically, in box the 2, he will come indicated the name that the rows will acquire after the conversion, through the box low we will select extension str (MDEC) (in the example: box1 “prova.avi†- box2 “prova.strâ€) 6 2) Cliccando on the Attributes button will be possible to settare i (little) parameters to ours disposition. From the tests carried out I can consigliarvi leave all unchanged except the options “Leap sector†and “Sound†that must be both activated. For how much it regards the value of the Frame installments… bhe, naturally you will have settarlo based on that one relative to the film grandfathers who you want to convert as an example :) the present film in the cd of Win95 has 15 Fps, sure different value from that one of a filmed municipality PAL or NTSC). 3) Once finished the formulation of the relative panel to the attributes of the rows .str will be sufficient to cliccare on the button “Go†in order to begin the conversion. N.B. Finished the conversion, if the VideoCD is wanted to be realized, it will have to copy i .STR in the folder \ created VIDEO scompattando the VideoCD.ZIP rows. As soon as copied i rows you will have rinominarli in 1.STR, 2.STR and thus via until to a total of four rows (if the films are in inferior number to four must modify the VideoCD.CTI rows using present information in chapter 5,2 of this guide). Executed the rows ESEGUIMI.BAT and you attend that the operations are finished; you open yours software of masterizzazione and overturned all on CD using image CD.CUE or CD.ISO. Finished to the operation inserted the CD in the Playstation and godetevi the films obtained. 7 5. Visualization of the .STR on PC In order to visualize rows .STR for Playstation directly on the monitor of your PC it is sufficient to load one with the many easy reperibili programs on the net that are taken care of the reproduction of such films; two between the most known are STRPlay and PSXVideo, both developed purposely in order to read to rows .STR also directly from a CD for Playstation (game or demo). STRPlay is much intuitivo and of simple I use and is therefore useless to stop to me in the explanation of such software; same speech for PSXVideo that, however, supports a greater number of formats and introduces a clearly greater number of options (but anch'esse of simple I use) regarding STRPlay. The only consideration to place is the following one: ricordatevi that the sopracitati programs not always have correcting operation or best… is not said that they succeed to fulfill to the 100% their task; it happens, in fact, to open of rows .STR and to find themselves in front of messages of error or to films then put off center or not correctly decoded. It is therefore easy deductible that the result obtained from these readers go

    2. Software and hardware needed
As for the hardware chip is required to change a Playstation and a PC
necessarily the last generation (of course it is always the rule that the speed
in the conversion is directly proportional to the computational capacity of your PC).
Make sure your hard drive has as much free space as possible considering that
For example, a 10-minute AVI, 320x240, 25 fps, DivX ;-) compressed (but with no sound
compressed) occupies, roughly, 150Mb and that, once converted. STR, the size will be
    increased by almost 1 / 3 (example: 150Mb + (1 / 3) * 150Mb = 200Mb).
The necessary software is, however, the following:
Movie Converter - software for converting AVI! STR
STRPlay (or similar) - Software for viewing movies on a PC STR
And 'advisable, before making a copy on CD-R, burn a CD-RW and a
Then check the correct operation through a PSX emulator (I use the Bleem! but
PSEmu2000 also goes' well if we have available at least 128Mb of RAM).
Please note that When viewing a VideoCD using an emulator does not always sound
is performed successfully even, at times, is totally ignored. If this
happens you can still rest easy because, once copied everything
CD-R and inserted into the psx, VideoCD work properly, including audio!
As for burning the CD you need a program capable of reading
files. CUE or. ISO, with respect to. CDRWin CUE can be used or, for those who suffer
with this software (such as my Yamaha), you can use the suite Blind
Read & Write (able to read. CUE). For those who do not "love" burning software
listed above can easily use any software capable of burning
. ISO (as, for example, Easy CD Creator).
    4
    3. Important notes and contents of the file attachment Videocd.zip
Annex to this document is a ZIP archive containing the files needed for
create your VCD. It 'requires clarification, however: in the file are not
contains the programs for the conversion of STR and movies for viewing of the data for
reasons purely "legal", wandering around the network should not be difficult, however,
come across sites from which you can download these programs.
For the rest,. Zip contains the structure of the CD to be realized, the utilities that deal with the
Creation of image files and video player for psx.
In concluding this section we want to invite all those who plan to
create VideoCD not ask me to send them the plans for the conversion and
reading. STR because it is legally impossible, whatever I can to make
available can be found in the file VideoCD.ZIP. Thank you.
    5
    4. How to convert .avi / .STR
Our aim will be to get a file. STR from a movie. AVI, having the
same contribution Audio / Video. It 'easy to understand how the two files will not
"Exactly" the same content but it will differ in some parameters such as quality
Audio (STR's do not support a higher audio with 37.8 kHz), the FPS (but they do not
always differ from the original) and, of course, the compression (quality of STR
    less compared to AVI).
It is considered that the user has already, ready to be converted, its AVI files (no more than
four) with a resolution of 320x240 and a maximum of 7.20 minutes (for each
    movie).
Please note that Before proceeding with the conversion is necessary to explain that the AVI
departure should not have any audio compression! Are only permitted
    video compression.
    The steps are as follows:
    1) Open the Video Converter program, and clicking on the box 1, select the file. Avi from
convert (in the box below it is required that the avi is "uncompressed",
I personally have done tests with compressed avi DivX ;-) and I have not had any
problem). Automatically, in box 2 will show the name of the file after purchase
conversion, using the box at the bottom of the extension will select str (MDEC)
    (Example: box1 "prova.avi" - box2 "prova.str")
    6
    2) Clicking on the Attributes you can set the (few) parameters in our
available. From the testing I can advise you to leave everything unchanged except
options "Leap sector" and "Sound" to be both turned on. However
Frame rate is about the value of ... well, of course you should set it according to what
related to the movie you want to convert avi (for example: the movie in the Win95 CD
has 15 fps, a value definitely different from that of an ordinary movie PAL or NTSC).
    3) Once the setting panel on the attributes of the file. Str will
Just click on the button "Go" to start conversion.
Please note that After the conversion, if you want to create VideoCD, you will need to copy
. STR in the \ VIDEO VideoCD.ZIP created by unzipping the file. Just copied the
you have to rename files in 1.STR, 2.STR and so on up to a total of four files (if
movies are fewer than four will need to modify the file VideoCD.CTI
using the information in section 5.2 of this guide). Run the file
ESEGUIMI.BAT and expect that the operations are finished, open your
and poured burning software on a CD using the image CD.CUE
or CD.iso. When done, insert the CD in the Playstation and enjoy movies
    obtained.
    7
    5. Viewing the. STR PC
To view a file. Playstation STR directly on the screen of your PC
Just load one of the many programs readily available on the net that deal
playback of these movies, are two of the most popular and STRPlay PSXVideo, both
developed specifically for reading files. STR also directly from a CD Playstation
(Game or demo). STRPlay is very intuitive and easy to use and is therefore unnecessary to dwell
in the explanation of such software, the same goes for PSXVideo which, however, supports a
greater number of formats and has a far greater number of options (but
also easy to use) than STRPlay. The only consideration is to ask
follows: remember that the above mentioned programs are not always correct
    operation, or better ... not necessarily able to fulfill their job 100%;
happen, in fact, to open the files. STR and find themselves in front of error messages or movies
decentralized or incorrectly decoded. It 'so easy to understand that the results
obtained from these players should always be taken with the tongs, if a movie does not start from
STRPlay is not said that then would not run perfectly on PSX! To you experiment and try ...
    8
    6. Physical implementation of the CD
In this chapter we will attempt to address the issue more complex with regard to
VideoCD creation of the Playstation, it will be in fact described the method for
get a CD from any executable perfectly Playstation commercially
if provided with modified chips. The knowledge and study of these chapters is not
still necessary for all users who intend to make your CD but it is
a starting point for all those who, like me, are not content just to get the
finished product but are willing and desire to go further and expand their knowledge
computer or not. I conclude by stressing that it will be developed below
overview of the topic that does not pretend to be, in any way, a text
    computer, even ...
    That said ... let's go!
    Reader 6.1. Playstation STR
For movies made on our PC are correctly decoded by our Psx is
need software (from now on referred to as "reader-psx") able to read
these files. It 'obvious that this software can "run" only if run from a psx, is therefore
useless to try to run that program on a PC. This imaginary reader-psx
is simply an executable that deals with both of the movies on the CD to start a
simple interface, complete with graphics for video management.
I reported in the figure below captures the screen of the reader-psx (Keep
to specify that the background image is that the buttons on the left have been realized by
signed with Lightwave and Photoshop) running the CD over the Bleem!
    9
After a sufficient number of tests, this guide covers the reader, you can
    draw the following considerations:
    • the maximum resolution allowed is 320x240, this implies a quality of movies
    totally objectionable
    • The color depth is managed by the PSX (only) 16 bit and this translates into a
unsatisfactory display in the scenes where you have shades and gradients
    particularly complex
    • The player can recognize a maximum of four movies and each movie is not
must be more than 7 minutes and 25 seconds, which means a total of 29 minutes
and 40 seconds of viewing. Even here you can guess how it all is very limiting if
you think that in a CD, you could bring up to ~ 40 minutes of contribution
    Audio / Video!
    • movies viewed on Psx not appear to be perfectly centered with the TV but some
cm (4-5) "up", producing a black stripe at the bottom of the screen.
To overcome this problem should be needed a TV that supports the standard
NTSC, you can also use one of those utilities can be easily found on the Internet,
dealing with changing the boot of PSX PAL to NTSC (I solved the problem
using this method) or (probably) the cable NTSC / PAL for sale in all
stores carrying material for the PSX
    • making a movie at 25 fps and displaying it on the PSX is known, after a few minutes,
a lag that sees the audio ahead of video
From the above we can easily deduce that, while able to visualize their
Psx movies can be interesting and pleasant, the other must be emphasized as the
quality is a factor to be discussed throughout. If anyone was hoping to make copies of
your DVD or SVCD for viewing on your PSX, ... well, he understands that the finished product
will never be equal, the movies do not exceed the final (and perhaps even reach) the quality
VHS. It 'may still exist around the network of readers with more specific
    "Wow".
    10
6.2 The file. CTI, and BuildCD StripISO
The. CTI is nothing but the table of contents of a CD, it is in fact
describes the structure, the directories and files to be included on the media (the CD). A. CTI go
then associated with the use of BuildCD that, by setting the appropriate parameters, is used to
the creation of the file. IMG, that is the image of the CD "virtual". To clarify the discussion
Consider, as an example, the file in the archive VideoCD.CTI VideoCD.ZIP attached
this guide. To view the content of the file VideoCD.CTI simply use a
any text editor (notepad, wordpad, etc.). Now we will analyze, with large heads, the code
    of that file:
the first dealing with strings identifying the name of the disk (XA_PSX), the lead in and
track format (XA, the format for the PSX), and also connecting to the file 2352.DAT,
    initialization of the system areas
    Disc XA_PSX
    LeadIn XA
    Empty 1000
    Postgap 150
    EndTrack
    Track XA
    Pause 150
    Volume ISO9660
    SystemArea 2352.DAT
    11
Then we initialize the identifiers of the CD and that is: the system identifier, the
type of CD (as a demo or GAME), the type of application and anything useful for
    identification:
    PrimaryVolume
    SystemIdentifier "PLAYSTATION"
    VolumeIdentifier "DEMO"
    VolumeSetIdentifier "DEMO"
    PublisherIdentifier "PSX"
    DataPreparerIdentifier "DEMO"
    ApplicationIdentifier "DEMO"
    Lpath
    OptionalLpath
    Mpath
    OptionalMpath
The subsequent deal with strings instead of drawing the shaft of the CD: folders under
folders and files. Then analyze the code carefully, reminding us that all the folders and
files that are "created" are actually to be considered as "created in the image of the IMG
    CD Burn ":
    Hierarchy
    File PSX.EXE;
    XAFileAttributes on Form1
    Source psx.exe
    EndFile
    File SYSTEM.CNF
    XAFileAttributes Form1 Date
    Source SYSTEM.CNF
    EndFile
    File CONFIG.DAT
    XAFileAttributes Form1 Date
    Source CONFIG.DAT
    EndFile
    12
The three files PSX.EXE, SYSTEM.CNF CONFIG.DAT and will then be copied to the root of the CD, the
PSX.EXE files that will appear on the CD has as its source (SOURCE) This file PSX.EXE
VideoCD.ZIP in the archive. The same can be reported for the two files
    SYSTEM.CNF and CONFIG.DAT
The procedure stated above also applies to the creation of subfolders and files to copy
    inside:
ICONS directory / * CREATE DIRECTORY ICONS
    File 1.TIM / * CREATE THE FILES INSIDE 1.TIM
Date XAFileAttributes Form1 / * FILE IDENTIFIER OF WAY (XA)
    Source icons \ 1.TIM / * CREATE THE FILE STARTING FROM 1.TIM
    EndFile / * END
    ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
    ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..
    ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..
EndDirectory / * CLOSE THE DIRECTORY ICONS
The same procedure must be 'then repeated for all other directories to create.
With regard to the VIDEO folder is important to make a small observation: by default
our file. CTI creates four files (1.STR, 2.STR, and 3.STR 4.STR) inside the folder
Video image by copying them from their four files that are in the VIDEO folder
present on your hard drive (found VideoCD.ZIP unzipping). You will definitely
understood that the four files in question are none other than our movies that previously,
we just copied into the VIDEO! It follows that, if we wanted to
insert the CD only a movie (and not four, as is the default) should eliminate
strings on the file creation 2.3 and 4!
    13
Suppose you want to create a CD with just one movie, if not eliminate the strings on
the other three movies, the BuildCD will fail with an error that no physical
of the three movies! However, if you delete these strings must realize that the BuildCD
create a CD containing a single movie and will not give any errors!
    Video Directory
    File 1.STR
    Video XASource \ 1.STR
    EndFile
    File 2.STR
    Video XASource \ 2.STR
    EndFile
    File 3.STR
    Video XASource \ 3.STR
    EndFile
    File 3.STR
    Video XASource \ 3.STR
    EndFile
    EndDirectory
    EndHierarchy
The last lines of code instead of the deal closing (lead-out) of the CD.
    EndPrimaryVolume
    EndVolume
    Postgap 150
    EndTrack
    Leadout XA
    Empty 150
    EndTrack
    EndDisc
    14
Once analyzed the functioning of the file. CTI, and modifying it according to our
needs, you should use in sequence and BuildCD StripISO.
BuildCD (as mentioned above) takes care of creating an image file. IMG
representing the contents of the entire CD; StripISO handles instead of producing, starting
BuildCD image created from a file. ISO to use with common software
burning. Both programs "run" under DOS so you have to run from
Prompt, to create a file with BuildCD must use the-i [filename.img] followed
the file name. CTI wrote earlier (in our case: VideoCD.CTI).
    The correct command line is:
    buildcd-ivideo.img VideoCD.cti
BuildCD start the process the. VIDEO.IMG CTI will create the file with the specific
required. At the end of the transaction (which may take several minutes), simply press the
'Esc' key on your keyboard to exit the program.
To convert the file from. IMG. StripISO.EXE ISO just run the file with the following
    options
    stripiso 2352 video.img video.iso
the value 2352 corresponds to the way of writing that, in our case, is the RAW.
VIDEO.ISO the file you just created you need to add the file 2352.DAT (which deals with the
write mode) using the COPY command with option B (binary data) enabled:
    copy / B + 2352.dat video.iso CD.iso
When finished we will have, at last, our CD.iso files ready to burn!
    15
    7. Final Thoughts
At the end of this series on the world of VideoCD for PSX, I can only urge you
in the realization of your "works". Try and try again (if you want and if you can), something
good, sooner or later will turn out!
To facilitate the task for all those who have not the slightest intention of creating their own
. CTI or those who do not want to put the nose between the strings of DOS, I have prepared a file
Batch (ESEGUIMI.BAT) located within the file VideoCD.ZIP. Your task will be
therefore to unpack the archive to a folder of your choice, convert your movies
in. STR and rename them and 1.STR 2.STR 3.STR 4.STR. Then copy them into the folder
VIDEO ESEGUIMI.BAT and run the file, wait for the operation BuildCD terms,
press 'Esc' and wait StripISO Copy and perform their tasks. When you are finished
All open your favorite burning program, recorded on a CD-RW
(Using the. Ol'ISO CUE) and try running the CD through an emulator, if all
function properly (remember that if you do not hear the audio, you need not alarm you) do the
your personal copy on CD-R and insert it into the PSX.
I do not wish you a "good view and enjoy the rest of the day!")

    8. F.a.q. (Frequently Asked Questions)
Here following is a list of questions and their corresponding answers,
    a simple troubleshooting.
Q: Can I watch DVDs on my PSX (PSOne and old model)?
Q: Can I watch movies in DivX;) on my PSX (PSOne and old model)?
    A: Absolutely NOT!
Q: Can I see on my psx VideoCD (old model and PSOne)?
A: Well, just say ... you must however be in possession of a small adapter
    be mounted on the PSX.
Q: What if I do not want to buy the adapter?
A: Well, read this guide carefully and solve your problems ... .. or not? ;)
Q: I can not MovieConverter convert MPG, VOB or other formats?
A: No. You need an AVI.
Q: It must be uncompressed AVI or can I compress it?
R: Well, the MovieConverter accepts AVI compressed with the sole condition that
have the uncompressed audio stream! Ok? Explained again: the Avi at your disposal
    may have the following characteristics
    - Audio: uncompressed
    - Video: accept the most common compression, including DivX;)
Q: What if I wanted to use an uncompressed AVI in its entirety (both audio and video)?
    A: So much the better!
Q: To create the AVI file from a DVD FlaskMpeg usually use, how do I get
Audio features an AVI - uncompressed video - Compressed DivX;)?
A: It's not my job to explain it ... play with the Flask (it's easier than you
might believe). From the global options you'll find what you are looking for the project, otherwise
use the guidance that you find along with the Flask!
    17
Q: But I do this procedure to create VideCD I also found another site! But then you
you have copied and did you properly!
A: Let us put the things you find in programs. Zip I have not created mica me!
I also found sites that dealt with the topic, but personally, I think they are just
clear and, most importantly, I realized that the explanations are the same for all sites
So if the speaker and, not content, appropriate rights on the guide itself! I have
only bothered to bring in this guide, all my knowledge about
    subject.
Q: I followed the procedure explained in the guide but when I try to read. STR with the
STRPlay player can not see anything!
A: Unfortunately STRPlay is not exactly the most as a player ... you can try other
readers but, from experience, I assure you that these programs are not very reliable ...
try burning the whole and viewed with an emulator or, better yet,
    directly with the PSX.
Q: I made the movie we see VideoCD but ugly!
A: No way .... Talk directly with the PSX .... it is his fault ☺
Q: In the FAQ I have not found the answer to my question .... What do I do?
A: please contact me (preferably via the forums or on www.appuntisuldigitalvideo.it
it.comp.console.playstation news groups) by inserting in the mail also my
    name.

Holly Sony of SEGA. Nice post.

I thought that was spam for a sec :p

    *EDIT*
It is so much effort and hard work to make a .STR play or even make a VCD!

Tell me about it in the UK you don't even learn second languages till secondary school which is far too late, imo you should have to learn English, German, Italian, French, Spanish "the multi-5" and Japanese in tandem, I had the choice to do either French or German in secondary school and picked French, I only know a little bit of the overs from what i've picked up from friends.

The guide is overcomplicated, it was made before both PSx CD-Gen and CDGENPS2 the only importance it has really has is the file order and sony movie converter settings all of which i'd forgotten.

Melbourne House made one of the best F1 games for the PS2, what happend to them?
