Does anybody have any experience with these? I saw some good ones on DX but I presume getting these into the UK isn't going to be easy (Customs probably wont like them). I'm interested because these could make for some fun jokes amongst friends.

I saw a schematic online for how to build one but it seemed quite complicated and I'm not confident with my soldering skills anymore.

I'm sure if you mark the package with something discrete like "cellular repair component" or something no one will mind it.

I wouldn't mind having one to use while I'm in class to piss off the pricks who constantly text message. Normally it wouldn't bother me since they're only screwing themselves by not paying attention but when someone is pulling a phone out and you can hear a "tap tap tap" sound it gets very distracting.

Then again here in the US I believe it is a felony to posses or operate a jammer.

well not only that, I'm not even sure how effective it is. Some don't block out all frequencies and bandwidths. And some don't output enough power to reach large areas. It's kind of a crapshoot.

I figure maybe 10ft would be a wide enough area? I would be quite close to the people I'm doing it to. about the frequency thing, I'm going to find out what frequency and bandwidths blackberry's operate on (presumably all the same) and go for that seeing as most people use blackberry's at school.

Its not about what freq blackberrys operate on - its the provider they are using.

UK mostly uses 2 bands - GSM 900Mhz and 1800Mhz

Thank's for the info! When you say and do you mean any frequency between 900Mhz and 1800 Mhz or do they actually use 900Mhz and 1800Mhz?
