I'm really starting to get annoyed with the chain store, GEO and their Wii displays. This week the fantastic Fatal Frame 4 was released so how many copies do you think they had? Bloody 2 !! 2 F*ing copies. Yet they had massive displays for the Konami baseball game that are ALWAYS the same every time apart from new stats, loads of Mario carp and other kiddy shit. Even Bio Hazard 0 had a good size display and that's just a re-release with a gimmick thrown in. Is it no wonder real gamers don't buy a Wii when quality stuff doesn't even get a look in yet all the shit does. In the past GEO were really good at promoting the real games however these days they just don't bother. Looks as if some shit for brains has become in charge of operations. rant over Yakumo
Welcome to every chain game store in the U.S. - utter crap - I am disgusted by the way the stores operate, their inventory, and their employees (I know of only a handful of employees that truly are knowledgeable on aspects of gaming other than what is shown on Game Trailers TV). I purchased a copy of Shenmue II Xbox (to compliment my DC copy) from the bargain bin, and the cashier knew nothing of the game nor had ever played it OH:
I work at gamestop in the US and I am very proud of my store. All of us are hardcore retro gamers. My store manager has a NES pad tattoed on his forearm (massive one at that) and on his leg he has a HUGE character from Samurai Showdown (a green haired girl with a massive boomerang type thing) Not all the stores are full of idiots just the ones in big towns where there are lots of wankers. Our store is in a small town 30 miles away from the next store so we are kinda preserved in the past. Hell the other day we had a hang man contest lol. all the words were vintage game titles XD
yes, they re mostly ill-informed idiots that boast. nothing new there. rarely, some are actually geniuses
That's Cham Cham she's in 1 and Tenka. Your Manager is inked with win. Alot of Gamestop employees around here are hardcore gamers almost every store has a Shin Megami Tensei Fan working there.
I think the local Geo had only 2 copies of the game (and it wasn't sold out...), but from what I read only 35,000 copies were made and it sold 21,000 copies in the first week, so maybe you shouldn' be soo hard on Geo. Oh if Konami are paying to display POS in a shop you surely can't blame Geo for that anyway that baseball game sold 110,000 on PS2 and Wii.
I'm just a bitter sod who can't stand sports shit selling by the bucket load when it takes less than half the time to produce than the like of Fatal Frame 4 which to be honest is an amazing bit of work. Still, I bought my copy from Yamada Denki (got 500 points too :thumbsup but that's because I pre-ordered it there. They have a pretty nice display for the game but have no copies in stock. Neither do GEO with there piss poor two game display and even Toys R Us are out of stock. Looks like this is going to suffer the same fate as No More Heroes did. Down here that went out of stock pretty much on day 1 due to soft sods in the chain stores not getting in enough copies. Yakumo
My exgirlfriend works at a Gamestop...and my friend Tasha does. they... don't know very much about gaming... ...and apparently their coworkers don't either.
She isn't in one. :fresh: Spanish game shops suck. I just buy new generation games in large stores like Fnac, shops are useless. There was a Game Stop in my neighborhood. They only got PS2 games, and all them we're 59.95€, prices didn't go down. Once I went there and asked for PSU when it got out, and the shop dude wanted to sell me an UNSEALED copy of a new game. Fuck them. It closed in about 5 months. Then you have for example, Strike-Games, selling low price japanese games at 69.95€, I asked for the first Taiko no Tatsujin for PS2 and they wanted 69.95€ for it, the game only, no Tatakon Controller, plus I had to wait 2 weeks for it and pay 50% in advance. That place is only useful for Famitsu, figures since they're cheaper and phone straps and that shit. And if you want retro, you of course have a great selection to choose from: You have Cash Converters, with loose sports SFC games, loose sports N64 games and boxed withouth manual sports MD games. And they sometimes fetch 8€. 8€ for a loose FIFA 97. Go eat balls. And Second Market, selling resealed GBA games for 25€, or Just Price selling boxed GBA games for 30€, and Dreamcasts for 60€, or original Game Boys for 15€. And there is this shop: Nombre de la entidad: NEST END GAMES S.L. PaÃs: ESPAÑA Provincia: VALENCIA Localidad: VALENCIA Código postal: 46008 Dirección: Avenida FERNANDO EL CATÓLICO , 2 Sector de negocio: Deportes, Juguetes, Ocio, y Arte Subsector de negocio: Juego, ocio y coleccionismo Datos de Contacto Teléfono: +34963943057 E-mail: canadian@ono.com I've never went, and possibly never will. It's quite famous around there for selling Mega Drive games for 50€+. More shitheads. And if you go to Barcelona, don't miss great shops like MercaJocs or GameOver, if you want to see what do they sell just check this out: http://stores.ebay.es/racaal_W0QQsspagenameZL2222QQtZkm Great prices, eh? Yeah. I don't know how can you complain about Japanese game shops.
OOps my bad. She's in 2 and only 2 since Tenka Doesn't count because like...it sucks. Also in 4 on saturn. Gotta keep up on my Neo Geo history of the few areas i'm encyclopedic about. For those that hate Gamestop there's always Gamecrazy.
The only problem I have with Gamestop is that they dominate the market and buy out all local games stores so that they have a monopoly. Most strip malls have a gamestop here, many malls have 2 gamestops. Part of that is the Eb buyout, but that goes on to prove the point. Why the heck I'd buy a used copy for a $5 discount is beyond me. It makes me mad like a grizzly.
Is it really good? The second one is crap so I wonder if the Wii capabilities make the game better. The second one was hyped to be really scary and creepy and it was just fucking Pokemon Snap with ghosts.
This is no Pokemon Snap that's for sure. This game really does have that creepy atmosphere. It's the sound that really pushes the fright level up. If you have a Pro-logic II setup then use it for this game  Graphically it's very impressive with everything done in real time apart from the opening demo movie. The story line is also decent with some great voice acting, in Japanese of course. Still, even if you can't understand it it still adds to the overall experience. The next volume of Retro Core will feature Fatal Frame 4 so make sure to check it out. I'm sure you'll agree it's miles better than the 2nd game. Yakumo
