The Japanese version of Chameleon Twist, translated to English is now available from:

    https://mega.nz/#!rM1AwSKa!aXcdqnYGV_x4XJZaf5LPbtWw-Vj-J0VBOsM7MpoLP6E

I've also posted the link in the modded/hacked/translated roms download thread at http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?topic=5289.0

English versions of Chameleon Twist already exist, for both PAL and NTSC, but for some reason a lot of content was removed when the JAP version was ported to PAL and NTSC, so the Japanese version is THE version to play. And now you can play it English!

It's not fully tested, so the author (Zoinkity, kudos for him for his hard work in translating this) asks if you'll post any information if you find any bugs or glitches. And if you want a brief summary of the differences between the Japanese and the PAL/NTSC versions, see https://tcrf.net/Chameleon_Twist for details.

And the original release thread (patch only) is at:

Never played it. I should give it a try :) This is a good occasion to do it.

I forgot the JP version had differences. I didn't imagine there's fans of it, this game has not aged well at all. I can even remember being dismayed at it not even a year after it's release. I've yet to ever try the sequel, but can't imagine it can be any better.

Not to put this down, though. This and the Bomberman 64 translation show that some forgotten games are still getting attention, which is always good.
