i know this isnt a pc forum but im on here more then any site i like.

Anywho i was wondering is a dual xeon workstation better then a i7 or amd rig?

Also im trying to stay in a 400-500 range even with used parts.

    Example Rig
    Dual xeon e5
    dual gpus
    12-16gb ram
    windows 10
    250 ssd

End goal is if i get something that render 4k videos and do some 3d modeling that would awesome.
So any advice would be nice. Thanks!

What software are you using for 3D modelling? First make sure it supports GPU rendering and with what cards. In the past I've used Blender for 3D animation and it did support GPUs but with some caveats. I'd check what your software can utilise before committing to the hardware.

Find their detailed specs for the CPU you're considering and it should be listed there.

Essentially every modern CPU is 64 bit multicore but again worth checking what your software recommends. I expect Maya would be optimised for parallel processing so the more cores the better.

Maya has also long recommended Quadro over GTX cards but I'm not sure if that still the case. Again I'd check what they recommend.

Also I'd go for 32GB RAM.
