So there have lately been two ways to get VGA output from your Dreamcast, buy an expensive box to plug directly into the DC a/v port, or buy the very cheap components and risk killing your DC doing the quite tricky internal VGA mod.

I attempted the internal mod, had some issues and was getting frustrated when I saw these:

I figured it was cheap enough to take a chance, so I bought one.

It arrived yesterday and I hooked it up to the VGA-in on my 32" 720p Samsung LCD, the picture is absolutely stunning, crystal clear and bright vibrant colours. SF III Third Strike looks just incredible!

Minor downside is no RCS breakout so I can't play Airforce Delta or Bangai-o without swapping cables - might do a hard wire S-video mod to fix this. Also, the cable seems to have nowhere to hold the signal management
capacitors and resistors seen in the internal mod and external VGA boxes, so I don't know if that will be a problem on some boxes?

Thought other DC users looking for affordable VGA might be interested

You are the man! I'll definitely be picking this one up, I can't believe it is this cheap.
