I've really grown tired of swap discs, but I have legit JP/PAL/etc games as well as burns of beta stuff, should i be seeking a chip or would region-free BIOS be any cheaper/easier? also i haven't had much luck with my local scene, if anyone can recommend someone reputable who wouldn't mind doing this on the cheap please let me know! I'd love to have the internal battery changed out in the process as well.
I would recommend GameShark for Sega Dreamcast since with that you can run Region Free games using that
0$ solution is using backups or loaders (code-breaker/import-enabler et al.). If you wanna use your original gd-roms: 1- If you're good at soldering, ordering a bios is the cheapest way. Bad_Ad84 sells them (UK) and Zer0-2k11 (Canada, should have cheaper shipping for you). 2- The region-free modchip is easier to solder, but harder to find and prices are higher than for the bios.
Region free BIOS is the best option. Swapping discs is only for people in denial about the fact they can't solder and wish they could.
i broke 2 dreamcast for try to use free bios and one for use region changer, i recomend use dc-x, now you can use a backup and then load the gd rom.
