    Hey Everyone,

What's the cheapest graphics card avaliable that has HDMI output? I want a simple graphics card that can do HDMI so I can play PC games on a TV. I don't really care much about 3D performance since this is for retro gaming (though it would be a plus), I just care about the HDMI output, as well as minimum watts needed to power the thing. (^_^)!

If you don't need HDCP, you can use a DVI->HDMI adapter with any DVI video card.

That wont let you output sound tho. I hook my pc up to my hdtv to playgames and its nice having sound come out of the cord too.

some Video cards only have dual DVI ports but adding a dongle you can output anything ranging from component, S-video, composite, to HDMI WITH SOUND. AVIVO it's called and it's by ATi. I should know, I have one!

Not all video cards (especially NVIDIA) with HDMI pass through audio. If you're using it for a HTPC, you'll appreciate a passively cooled card (like the one MTWomg linked above) instead of one with an onboard fan -- which can often be louder than the CPU fan.

Quite alot of ATI radeon HD3000 series and HD4000 series cards do HDMI either with a HDMI port or via a DVI adapter and also a few of the ones that use a DVI adapter do sound via that as well although it is based on what manufacturer decides so not all will do that. Can't comment on Nvidia cards as i haven't used them in a while.

Anyway something like a HD3450 like this would do fine as its quite cheap at $32 and does have a HDMI port and 512mb of ram although only gddr2 but since its not for 3d gaming you'd be ok with that - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121302

What would be your ideal budget??
