Quick question, does anyone know if the internal IDE connector on the Chihiro Type 3 is indeed pinned out like a normal IDE and wired over to the screwy 50 pin SCSI? I can see the traces leading over there in pictures, and I see the 44 pin solder pads for the notebook style connector.

If so, then I should be able to put a CF card adapter right inside the unit, and figure out which of the pins on the power connector next to the IDE port are +5/GND and bring it over to the adapter.

I realize the frimware needs to be netloaded to upgrade to 4.02 or whatever it is, the CF card Fat16, and the game image encrypted using the crypto key that is in each machine. I figure I can use triforcetools.py to fetch that key and write the encrypted file to disk. Or potentially the other windows utility. Just trying to shed the GD-ROMs so it's more reliable.
