1) The weapon is irrelevant, but the banality of the weapon is shocking. A simple household item. Children are pretty resilient. Most parents can think of an incident, such as a child flying down the stairs, dropping out of a tree or falling out of bed onto their faces, where you run to them expecting major injury and cursing stairs, trees and beds. Utter panic! However, other than pride little gets damaged. To actually kill a child with a blunt instrument means he must have blugeoned her to death in a fit of frenzied malace. 2) He had beaten her before, so why was he still allowed anywhere near her? Why do people remain with abusive partners? It's equally negligent to allow an abusive situation to continue. 3) Tried to revive her in the bath? Who the hell does that? What a piece of shit! If parents don't love, or cannot care for their children then let Social Services. When I saw that little girl my first thought was, my wife and I would have gladly looked after her.
at first i tought this, to be an april joke based on a wiimote accident anyway, some people really shouldn't have a place on this earth.
$25,000 is like a million bucks for these people. Safe to say they won't be getting out any time soon.
Pathetic indeed. I wonder what the boyfriend looks like, according to the instrument of murder he wasn't the brightest guy on earth.
unfortunately it doesn't matter now... it's insane what some of these kids have to grow through. at work i'm working with a 1st grade boy who comes from an abusive home, where his parents are meth addicts. it's just a really sad situation. these kids just need someone to love them and good examples to help them grow up.
Most likely Xbox M. I remember a similar event including video games, when a guy killed a child because it interrupted his game.
I killed somebody with a remote control car I saw in a Jackie Chan movie news just said it was a bomb. (incase you don't realize what I'm saying, this wouldn't be news if the muder weapon was something else)
Blarg What I mean is the story makes it crystal clear the muder weapon was a controller. Where as if he say saw a movie (in the case of my example Police Story 2 the explosive Cars being from that movie) It wouldn't have been the movie or the fault of the remote Control cars it would be the person's fault. But since video games are evil now it's just as much the controllers fault as it is the asshole who did this. Get me now?
In this particular instance I suspect it is understood that the murderer just used the first object to hand to lash out at a defenseless child. As far as I saw (because the media may be raking over this) no attempt was being made to suggest 'gaming' was the issue.
Yeah, sad. I'm sure video games will get blamed for this, but the fact is that if someone has that sort of temper, then they will do it regardless. It just goes to show that practically anything can be used as a weapon. Makes me wonder what kind of pad it was, though!
