Big Rez(and Tetsuya Mizuguchi) fan here so I picked up Child of Eden. I really like it so far but not as much as Rez. Been playing it sometimes with Kinect and sometimes with a controller. Sometimes I hook it up to a HMD and let it blast the hell out of my eyes. Funny, it kinda reminds me of Ikaruga in a way. Anyone else playing it? I had to take a little break from L.A. Noire and really enjoying it so far.
I was actually thinking earlier how cool it would be with a HMD and kinect. Hows the kinect controls?
I do not feel they are as good as everyone seems to rave about but decent. I live in a tiny apartment and kinect doesn't like that to begin with.Hopefully the Nyko Zoom alleviates some of the problem I have. One thing I noticed is that for most Kinect games you can be in a general area and the games still work pretty well but I feel like I have to be in just the right spot to play C.O.E.
I'm not sure I like it as much as Rez, but I'm happy to say that they are in no way trying to hide their roots. This game is a true sequel in every way and I'm loving it. If you needed a reason to buy a Kinect, this is probably it. Also brainpann, what kind of HMD are you using? I've been looking for an affordable one with HDMI Input.
As a fan of Rez (and any other games from the same development team like Meteos) I picked up Child of Eden which I really like. It plays like Rez but with extra gameplay ideas. Of course I don't have a Kinect (and I will never got) so I play it with controller which is ok. The only annoying fact that you need to play previous stages again and again in order to unlock further stages. I don't mind some re-playability but not from the beginning! This game is a masterpiece.
I found some parts with a controller a bit hard to pull off simply because of how slow the cursor moves across the screen, I didn't see any option for adjusting the input speed?
I think it's a fantastic game - absolutely mind-blowing. I'm not sure if I like it as much as Rez, but it's great to play something truly original for a change.
